Role
Who you are
- You have at least four years of professional experience in Product management (particularly with technical products)
- You have a strong understanding of software development processes and lifecycle
- You have a strong engineering background and can discuss things at eye level with our software engineers
- You have excellent communication and collaboration skills
- You can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- You are fluent in German and English and keen to work in an international corporate environment with an "English First" approach
- You are familiar with Agile methodologies and tools (like Scrum)
What the job involves
- You work with internal as well as external stakeholders and our engineers to define the future direction for
- Our cloud offerings (SaaS & PaaS) OR
- Core platform
- You break down strategic initiatives into small achievable goals and roadmaps
- You collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products
- You translate developer needs into technical requirements and user stories
- You prioritize features, enhancements, and bug fixes based on feedback and strategic goals
- You uncover and understand customer needs (market research) and translate them into requirements
- You understand, research, and follow competitors and technical trends in the industry to inform product decisions
- You monitor product performance and iterate based on user feedback and metrics
- You actively introduce changes into the company and help Sales and Marketing to communicate the value of the product
- You are the messenger of architectural decisions towards our community and the voice of the user/developer internally
Our take
The eCommerce boom in recent years has shown no signs of slowing down, and Shopware is capturing the opportunity. The company offers a set of open source tools to power the online shopping experience for hundreds of thousands of brands.
There are of course competitors, like Shopify Plus, but Shopware has stood out for serving mid-market companies that were not digitally-native businesses but had to take on digital channels to keep up with customer demand. This, combined with the obvious increase in brands and companies needing help when eCommerce became more mainstream, has served Shopware particularly well.
Founded in 2000, the company only received its first round of funding in 2022. Until then, it had been profitable off its own back. This capital and support from, among others, Carlyle and PayPal will be invested in its international growth.
