Who you are
- A passionate Data Engineer who has multiple years experience working in building and maintaining data pipelines that help to deliver valuable business insights
- You are a real data champion and love working with other departments to show the benefit of data led decision-making
- Multi-disciplinary Expertise: Knowledge in various areas such as data architecture, cloud technologies, and programming languages relevant to data engineering

- Databricks experience: Databricks Data Engineer with at least 2 years of experience who is well-versed in applying software engineering principles to data engineering practices
- Continuous Learning: Be committed to staying up to date with industry trends and advances to ensure you can innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency
What the job involves
- This role will report into our Data Engineering Manager and will be responsible for building and maintaining Flagstones critical data infrastructure and ensuring it is reliable, efficient and scalable
- Building and Maintaining Data Infrastructure: - Responsible for creating and maintaining robust cloud infrastructure that ensures reliability, efficiency, and scalability
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines: Defining goals, identifying sources, designing processing plans, orchestrating data flow, ensuring data quality, and providing accessible interfaces for business empowerment
- DataOps and Scalability – Integrate people, processes, and technology to enhance the quality and speed of data delivery
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs, ensuring that the data solutions provided align with business objectives

There’s a growing appetite for them, and over the past decade Flagstone has quietly emerged as the UK market leader. Flagstone services individuals, charities, and businesses looking to spread their savings across any of 47 different UK banks, including institutions like Coutts and newer players like Revolut.
In the last 3 years, the company has ramped up its competitive edge, too. In 2021, Flagstone dropped its minimum required personal deposit from £250k to £50k to fall in line with high-end competitor Insignis Cash Solutions. Plus, in 2022, it began selling its product internationally.
The international market may prove trickier for Flagstone to crack - UK competitor Raisin has a strong pan-European market presence and already commands high levels of funding. Furthermore, it has a lower minimum required deposit than Flagstone. Nevertheless, there’s space for Flagstone to carve out its own niche if it focuses on organisations and wealthier clientele.
