Role
Who you are
- Bachelor'S Degree (B.Sc., B.Comm, etc.) in Finance, Accounting, Management
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in finance
- CPA, CFA, or MBA Preferred
- SaaS industry experience is required, preferably experience working in a high-growth B2B SaaS company
- Proficiency in financial planning tools (e.g., Adaptive Insights) and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite)
- Leadership experience in building and mentoring FP&A teams (at least 3+ years in management role)
- Track record of process improvement and automation in FP&A functions
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to influence executive leadership
- Strong business partnering and influencing skills, experience working across executive leadership teams
- Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking mindset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with competing priorities
- Excellent command of English; French is an asset
What the job involves
- The Director of FP&A is a key leadership role within the Finance department, reporting directly to the VP Finance
- This position is crucial for driving the company's financial and strategic planning, business insights, and operational efficiency to support executive decision-making and long-term growth
- The Director of FP&A will own forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling while partnering with cross-functional leaders, and will lead and develop a high-performing FP&A team
- Develop and execute short-term and long-term financial strategies to support company growth
- Provide data-driven analysis and actionable recommendations to support executive decision-making
- Own and lead special projects related to the FP&A mandate
- Develop and maintain Source of Truth Metrics to ensure accuracy and consistency in financial reporting
- Oversee FP&A team - including various reporting (monthly business reviews, board packages, and all other investor reporting)
- Lead forecasting and budgeting efforts to align financial resources with company objectives
- Support short-term and long-term financial planning to sustain company growth and financial health
- Evaluate the potential financial impact of new investments and strategic decisions
- Review models and perform scenario analysis to forecast future financial outcomes
- Develop and scale FP&A business partnering program, offering financial insights to drive operational improvements and profitable growth
- Lead, mentor, and develop team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
- Implement best practices and enhance financial processes to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders to drive financial discipline and strategic alignment across the organization
Our take
The home healthcare market is growing due to the ageing population, a global shortage of care workers and a shift to value-based reimbursement. AlayaCare's end-to-end software platform for care providers allows staff to manage the entire client lifecycle, from referrals and intake to billing and payroll. It helps back-office processes run more efficiently, allowing staff to focus on outcomes instead of paperwork.
AlayaCare's platform aims to deliver better patient outcomes and lower costs for providers, reducing both client intake times and resubmissions. This approach has earned the company a large client base of hundreds of home care and assistance firms including Nurse Next Door, Home Instead and Bayada Home Health Care.
The company was not immune to the general downturn in the tech sector in 2022, and slowed growth as a result. That said, AlayaCare made a series of moves towards a more sustainable business model which have seen it come out the other side in a good position. It has now raised additional support to integrate AI into its health record platform.
