  • The successful candidate brings significant experience in developing customer-friendly messages and leading impactful go-to-market strategies that result in wide adoption and high customer retention
  • 6-8 years of progressive experience, ideally including leadership roles in product marketing
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to effectively lead multiple partners and projects with tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to build and scale a function as the team’s first product marketing hire
  • Success in developing strong internal and external relationships
  • Fluency in recent news, cultural trends, and policy changes and able to translate that knowledge into concrete strategic actions
  • Strong imagination, instincts and judgment in transforming complex topics and information into captivating, relevant content
  • Proven acuity to thrive in a fast-paced environment and continuously adapt to new challenges and dynamic priorities, while maintaining professional grace and a sense of humor
  • Strong technical knowledge of a broad range virtual event platforms, virtual event production approaches and modern marketing automation, analytics and technology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent technical skills – MS Office (specifically advanced Excel and PowerPoint), virtual event platforms (Hopin, Zoom, others) and integrations to track lead generation (Salesforce.com, HubSpot) and Google Suite

What the job involves

  • Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Product Marketing Director is a storyteller with a passion for bringing products to life through resonant campaigns and promotion strategies, supporting Candid Health’s rapid product development roadmap
  • This leader will serve as the primary liaison between Product Development/Management, Marketing, and Sales to ensure maximum mind share, market share, and revenue within target provider segments
  • Scale our product marketing function (and core processes) with a focus on driving pipeline, solution value, and customer value realization
  • Be the specialist on our existing customers and potential buyers and influencers
  • Cultivate a solid understanding of our shifting competitor landscape by developing and sharing market insights on key competitors
  • Establish the positioning of Candid Health’s platform, including developing and maintaining our key differentiators, value propositions, and messaging
  • Work with product and commercial teams to coordinate and lead the development and implementation of end-to-end launch plans for new features, products, and technology integrations
  • Enable our commercial teams with materials such as win/loss analysis, battle cards, objection handling, pitch decks, RFP templates, website copy and content, one-pagers, stats and facts, and demo videos
  • Support the development of our Demand Generation and ABM efforts by understanding content messaging gaps and developing custom positioning and materials to engage target accounts
  • Support the Content Marketing function in setting our thought leadership and demand content agenda in line with our commercial objectives
  • Manage and ensure the success of Customer Lifecycle Marketing initiatives, including advocacy, references, community, and be a strong contributor to successful upsell strategies
  • Set clear goals and product marketing Key Performance Indicators with support from the team
  • Drive the strategic GTM direction for segment growth, including developing core use cases, buyer messaging, sales plays, and GTM approach

Our take

Healthcare spending in the US medical system has been ballooning for decades. Administration contributes a substantial portion to this, constituting almost three times what other developed countries spend proportionate to their healthcare budget - and taking up valuable physician hours. The detrimental impact this has on the quality and affordability of care has meant solutions are becoming urgent, and Candid Health is contributing a strong one.

The data and AI-driven platform helps healthcare providers automate the process of submitting, chasing, and appealing insurance claims. It’s regularly audited by HIPAA, helping the company dodge the tightening data protection net that’s stunted the progress of some medtech startups. Having passed this obstacle the company is running at modest capacity - the challenge now is to lock in a broader client base, which could prove challenging.

Companies like Change Heathcare and Flobotics, for example, offer automated claims submissions as part of a broader robotic process automation service for medical institutions. It may be that this holistic administrative software proves more attractive for overburdened providers. For now, however, Candid Health is gaining a respectable amount of traction and enjoyed a funding round of $29 million in 2024.
