Role
Who you are
- 15+ years of experience in software development
- Excellent knowledge and experience SaaS software architecture design patterns
- Excellent communication of architecture ideas and designs to the team
- Excellent experience with designing and scaling Event Driven Systems (e.g. SQS, Kafka, Rabbit MQ, etc.)
- Excellent understanding of the different architectural and compliance demands of an enterprise SaaS application
- Experience with evolving architecture stacks over several years
- Experience with developing, testing, and monitoring server-less architecture and or micro-services
- Experience with IaC (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, etc)
- Experience with load and latency testing of APIs
- Experience scaling backend infrastructure - server management, hosting and deployment, implementation and CI/CD
- Experience working in a remote team. Comfortable reviewing and testing your team’s work and providing thoughtful feedback
What the job involves
- As a Software Architect at cove, you’ll be joining our product and engineering team and have outsized influence over how our software is built and the tools we use
- Your role will consist of architecting, building and operating our software platform and delivering a great experience to our users
- Designing, architecting, developing, and operating our SaaS platform
- Evolving and scaling our platform to accommodate customer and team growth
- Driving technical projects and initiatives and coordinating and delegating with developers and product manager on other teams
- Creating a welcoming environment where developers are empowered to make their own decisions and are not afraid to make mistakes
- On-call rotation for the platform team (we’re very sensible, we don't like to get woken up either)
Our take
Digital applications and technology have led to innovation in most sectors over the last two decades, but the way we interact with real estate and office spaces has been left relatively untouched. Whilst the concept of smart homes and offices does present an exception, this mostly concerns interacting with innovative hardware as opposed to the physical spaces that already exist within a property.
Cove builds technology and designs user experiences for real estate owners and business offices, aiming to augment them with cutting-edge technology solutions such as space reservation software, guest check-ins, communication displays, and room-viewing booking systems. The company also provides service installations such as catering services, fiberoptic internet, workspace design, and team perk packages.
The COVID-19 pandemic had a dramatic effect on the way people see their workplaces and living spaces due to remote opportunities and this has led many other startups to address convenience and technology in spaces. However, cove has taken a unique approach to the matter, providing all-in-one innovation management and service packages for both real-estate and office owners.
