Role
Who you are
- Have 10+ years of experience in a software engineering team, with at least 2 years of management experience
- Have a proven track record developing and deploying large-scale ML models
- Have experience with PyTorch and modern ML architectures and training techniques
- Have experience working in python, typescript and with various cloud technologies
- Have experience leading teams of 2+ engineers
- Have a track record of shipping business outcomes in a 0→1 environment

- We're seeking a Tech Lead Manager with AI modeling expertise who is excited about building novel AI systems to drive business impact
- We see the biggest risk here being execution and cutting through ambiguity to deliver on competing priorities
- We are looking for a leader who is focused on shipping a product with technical ambiguity and who can leverage the team's diverse expertise to ensure they are able to deliver
- You should be able to dive into model development, optimization, and evaluation to ensure we're building the right AI capabilities and running effective ML experiments
- Our team has two ML specialists, as well as robotics generalists and full-stack engineers on sister teams, and we're looking to bring in a TLM who has strong AI modeling experience and can help fill in gaps on the team, as well as track project execution and mentor the ML specialist engineers
- Lead a small team of ML engineers to achieve business outcomes and technical excellence
- Design and optimize AI models and training strategies for robotics applications
- Apply novel machine learning techniques to solve complex robotics challenges
- Develop evaluation frameworks to measure model performance and identify improvement opportunities
- Build our ML pipeline, as well as full-stack as needed to deliver our AI product
- Drive technical roadmap and project management for your team
- Consult with AI industry experts to de-risk technical strategy
- Develop growth plans and keep engineers motivated
- Work with leadership and cross-functional partners to define success for our AI product as well as an execution plan

Standard Bots is setting out to change this, with AI-powered robots and a complementary robotics platform that means they can be programmed through simple demonstrations. This approach should broaden the accessibility of robots to businesses of all sizes, enabling them to employ automations that can give them a competitive edge.
It's an intriguing proposition, and investors clearly agree, with the company raising substantial funding to support its mission. Standard Bots plans to use these funds to expand its engineering team and speed up the development of its robots, as well as further improve its robotics platform.
