- Extensive Python experience building microservices and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
- Experience developing software at all stages of the development lifecycle
- Have experience undertaking TDD as a design just as much as a development tool
- Know how to develop CI/CD pipelines and understand common CD strategies such as dark launches and feature toggling
- Know how to use common GIT functionality and understand trunk-based and legacy git flow development
- Designed and implemented de-coupled microservices within an event-driven architecture. In particular using common event-driven patterns such as orchestration, choreography, and sagas
- Have experience working with a common event-broker technology such as Kafka, Solace PubSub+, RabbitMQ, or NServiceBus
Desirable
- Hands-on AWS experience, especially with serverless infrastructure (e.g., Lambdas, DynamoDB, and ECS) although Azure and GCP experience will also be considered
What the job involves
- As a software engineer in the team; you will work on building the platform that enables the automation of an industry
- The core services allow our solutions to communicate with third-party APIs in a reliable and scalable manner
- Our software engineers work across the technical stack, designing and implementing the infrastructure and skills that make our solutions indispensable to our clients
- Understanding business needs and defining user requirements
- Developing robust microservices within a service-oriented and/or event-driven architecture is essential
- Take the lead on improving technical and non-technical DevOps. Improvement may come from implementation, but also knowledge-sharing and facilitating change
- Research the latest technologies and explore how to apply them to fulfil product and client needs
- Perform technical design, architecture, and development. In particular, understanding pain points in implementing our chosen architectures and how these may be alleviated through better design or different technologies
- Maintain Documentation & Automated Unit Testing
- Monitoring & Maintaining Production Application
- Configure AWS environment and infrastructure including but not limited to (EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, and StepFunctions)
