Role
Who you are
- Language: 🇫🇷 full fluency / bilingual level is required (we will not consider candidates that do not stick to such a requirement)
- A Product Manager with experience in Fintech Product Management (working with invoicing flows, payments, master how operations team work)
- Strong interpersonal skills to navigate stakeholder relationships, spend time with our internal users, gain buy-in on roadmap, spend time with internal teams to understand their problems and explain prioritization decisions
- Ability to simplify and tackle complex problems, both with tech teams and other Product Managers involved in the scope
- Hands-on approach and willingness to step outside traditional product roles to ensure product success (e.g., collaborating with operations and data teams)
- Prior experience in product management job at a scale-up or large tech company is required
What the job involves
- Ensure billing accuracy, compliance, and reliability across invoices, credits, and adjustments
- Improve client experience around their invoices and payments by reducing friction, errors, and time to resolution
- Partner with Sales, Finance, Legal, Support, and Ops to align processes and tools
- Enable strategic evolutions such as internationalization, e-invoicing, and product diversification
- You'll engage with numerous stakeholders and personas, including many internal personas (which come with both rewards and constraints); this involves deep diving into the roles of customer agents, sales agents, developing a deep understanding of our financial flows, sales & marketing strategy
- You'll support core processes across several business units and train internal teams on new features
- You'll gain valuable knowledge about how key business units operate, which can be applicable in different companies
- You'll work in a transversal scope with a variety of features that require different product skills, ranging from classic UX flows to more backend-oriented solutions
- As a Product Manager, you’ll be part of a 100+ people Product organisation, supported by an engineering team of more than 300 people
- You’ll spend an extensive amount of time continuously discovering the users and their pain points. You will interview them, conduct user research and get your hands in our data platform to gather insights on what needs to be solved
- With those insights and with the company’s objectives in mind, you’ll be empowered to define your OKRs and your roadmaps, to have the strongest possible impact on solving user problems and reaching the company's objectives
- You’ll work hand in hand with a Product Designer dedicated to your squad, as well as a team of Product-centered engineers. You will start with small steps (we like the MVP approach!) and will follow-up on the implementation and future iterations. For us, achieving a common goal matter more than just building features
- Within one month
- You’ll learn everything about our company, our teams, and our vision during the first onboarding week
- You’ll familiarize yourself with the product and the accounting industry (You will have access to a lot of documentation and will assist to trainings organized by your peers)
- You’ll get a very deep knowledge of our Product organization, methods, and culture
- Within 3 months
- You’ll have imagined and implemented your first solutions, hand-in-hand with Product Designers and Engineers
- You’ll have impacted positively at least one OKR
- You will have setup your continuous discovery routine and will be ready to build your roadmap
- Within 6 months
- You’ll be autonomous at defining your OKRs and your roadmap
- You’ll keep having a strong impact via iterations on the solutions you've shipped
- You’ll share your learnings and best practices within the team
- And beyond : The product team will double in size in two years. Which means you’ll have :
- Multiple opportunities to recruit and mentor new PMs
- Increased responsibilities in project leadership
- Responsibilities to think of and implement new processes, tools and best practices to make sure that your team works even smoother

- Step 4: final round with Tancrède (our CPO) and a Group Product Manager (Google meet, 60 min)
- We make sure we move fast ; you can expect the recruitment process with us to last between 21 and 28 days in total
Our take
In multiple mature markets, companies have been using QuickBooks, Xero and other SaaS solutions for accounting, but it is a fragmented industry with each country using its own software solution. In France, there is no definitive SaaS solution for accounting.
Pennylane wants to overhaul current tools and modernise the tech stack of accounting firms, by connecting directly with third-party services that hold valuable information. Accounting firms can use Pennylane collaboratively by accessing the platform to centralise receipts, create invoices and automate tasks. Instead of sending information back and forth with spreadsheets and photo attachments, both clients and accounting firms can interact directly on the platform.
Pennylane has a significant market opportunity ahead, with an ambitious goal to become the preferred management platform for European companies. The company already claims an impressive number of customers and strong backing which will allow it to further develop its platform and expand to other markets in Europe.
