- Platform Builder: You design solutions that enhance developer productivity and reduce friction, applying best practices like DDD, 12-Factor App principles, and modern API design. Skilled in building internal platforms, developer tooling, and paved paths on cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS)
- Automation Advocate: Skilled in automating workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)

What the job involves
- Joining Catawiki as a Senior Software Engineer in our Platform means working at the intersection of development, infrastructure, and operations. Challenges are guaranteed
- Your work as a Senior Software engineer - DevEx will shape how Catawiki teams deliver value to customers, fostering speed, reliability, and security in everything they build
- Build a Self-Service Developer Platform: Design and maintain self-service platforms that abstract complexity, empowering teams with the tools they need to seamlessly deploy, monitor, and optimize their applications
- Orchestrate Cloud-Native Infrastructure: Manage our Kubernetes clusters and other cloud resources, ensuring performance, scalability, and cost efficiency with FinOps
- Boost Developer Productivity: Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and reusable templates to accelerate development and deployment cycles
- Drive Reliability and Scalability: Implement best practices for fault tolerance, disaster recovery, and scaling, ensuring that applications run smoothly and efficiently under all conditions
- Monitor and Improve Platform Operations: Use and enhance observability stack to ensure platform health and resolve incidents proactively
- Collaborate and Innovate: Collaborate with product teams to understand their needs and build solutions that empower them, while evangelising cloud-native best practices within Catawiki

In the past, it was only possible to purchase special items such as rare coins, antiques, and vintage cars at auctions held at physical locations. These days, many people prefer online auctions, but whilst they provide a wider range of objects for sale, this comes at the cost of proper pricing and quality control. Catawiki provides an expert-regulated online auctioning marketplace where users can browse and bid for special objects easily via the web or mobile app.
The objects listed on Catawiki are curated, valued, and verified by in-house experts, with over 100,000 objects passing through the marketplace every week. In this approach, the company has combined the community knowledge found at traditional auctions with the benefits of digital auctioning platforms, occupying a space that has long remained empty, and avoiding competition from bidding marketplace giants such as eBay.
Catawiki has received good funding in the past, which contributed to it becoming the success it is today. A recent venture has seen the company expand to serve artisanal artists with its handmade products auction series.
