Engineering Manager, Middesk

• 2+ years of experience leading product engineering teams in either an engineering manager or team lead capacity
• 6+ years of product engineering experience as an individual contributor, with strong technical skills that enable you to quickly learn and deeply engage with our codebase with your team
• A strong understanding of customer needs, with a proven track record of aligning engineering goals to deliver impactful, user-focused outcomes
• Ability to effectively manage stakeholders, communicate in a structured and clear manner, and drive accountability across the team
• Demonstrated ability to grow and manage a team through coaching, mentorship, and providing constructive performance feedback

• We’re looking for an engineering leader to lead product engineering pods focused on our core business verification product
• Our business verification product enables our customers to seamlessly onboard SMBs by leveraging 1st party access to authoritative government data sets. Middesk organizes our teams into focused pods of 3-5 engineers
• On day one, you’ll embed yourself on one of our existing pods, partner with product and design to shape business and product decisions and team up with engineers on your team to keep the team moving forward, shipping quickly and responsively adjusting to customer feedback
• You’ll ultimately be responsible for 8-10 engineers across two of our identity pods
• We’re a small team of hands-on contributors, so you’ll roll up your sleeves when needed—whether that’s writing stories, taking on engineering on-call duties, debugging a flaky build, or shipping a fix
• Ultimately, your primary responsibility will be the success of your team. This includes hiring, coaching, and mentoring to ensure your team delivers impactful results for the business
• Manage and coach a team of full-stack engineers, supporting their growth by identifying development opportunities, providing continuous feedback, and addressing performance management needs
• Partner with our recruiting team to hire and build your team with humble, self-driven engineers as we scale our engineering organization
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Go-to-Market teams to shape your team’s roadmap and strategy
• Work closely with our Foundation team to quickly ship and release new data products and insights for our customers
• Engage directly with our customers to understand their needs and partner closely with our data teams to address them effectively
• Collaborate with the Engineering leadership team to continue to define our culture and improve our engineering team through scalable and repeatable processes
