What the job involves
- Scratchpay is on the lookout for a dynamic Director of Engineering to lead our expanding global team of fully remote product engineering experts
- You're a natural leader, able to inspire and drive innovation and success within your engineering teams
- In this role, you'll collaborate with talented professionals from around the world, driving innovation and excellence for our elective healthcare platform
- Reporting directly to Scratchpay’s CTO, you will manage multiple product engineering teams that power our cutting-edge financing, payment, and communications products
- Lead and Manage Teams: Reporting to Scratchpay’s CTO, you will oversee multiple product engineering teams that drive our financing, payment, and communications products
- Collaborate for Innovation: Work closely with our Product and Backend Engineering teams to support ongoing innovation in our products and services, ensuring the highest quality deliverables
- Recruit and Grow Talent: Attract top engineering talent and leaders while identifying growth opportunities for team members
- Mentor and Coach: Mentor and coach your engineers, fostering a collaborative environment and working with peers to build healthy, high-performing teams
- Onboarding and Integration: Immerse yourself in our codebase and assist in onboarding new hires to ensure a smooth integration
- Performance Metrics: Develop and implement metrics to measure engineering performance and success
- Ensure Project Success: Monitor team performance, providing guidance and feedback to ensure the success of projects

Scratchpay provides healthcare financing solutions for both human and pet healthcare, allowing customers to apply for payment plans across various time periods. The company provides its "Take 5" plan of five bi-weekly payments at zero percent interest, a plan which doesn't include hidden fees and is not subject to prepayment penalties or deferred interest.
The company has raised considerable funding which will be invested in developing new technology to help medical providers better connect with their clients and manage the end-to-end patient experience. Scratch is processing over $1 billion in payments annually, and is planning for further expansion as the popularity of buy now, pay later services continues to grow in the health care sector.
