Who you are

5+ years experience in high-performance C++ environments
Have some Rust or Go experience
Have a strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and distributed systems
Have a deep understanding of systems programming concepts, particularly in high-performance or real-time applications
Are familiar with the ethereum virtual machine, execution layer and blockchain technology more generally
Have solid foundational knowledge of distributed systems and storage technologies
Have a strong ability to diagnose complex problems, particularly in distributed and real-time systems, and implement adequate solutions
Work well in a team environment, are comfortable discussing technical issues, and can effectively collaborate with other engineers to achieve common goals

What the job involves

Dune is pushing the boundaries of real-time data processing, and we’re looking for a talented C++ Engineer to help us build and optimize the next generation of APIs
As an engineer in the data team at Dune, you’ll play a crucial role in developing high-performance, real-time systems that power crypto applications
You’ll work on some of the most cutting-edge technologies directly impacting the user experience
Design, implement, and maintain a high-performance custom distributed EVM implementation powering our indexing platform, ensuring it meets industry-pioneering performance and stability requirements of our users
Work closely with the team to develop new features and increase chain coverage
Explore, design and implement cutting-edge solutions balancing latency, throughput, reliability and maintainability
Contribute to the internal developer experience by improving local tooling, a variety of automated tests, and incremental deployment processes
Work on one of the fastest engineering teams in the industry

Our take

Dune is a cryptocurrency analytics platform offering users free access to analyse and create analytics dashboards on a range of digital assets, from NFTs to DeFi protocols. It makes crypto analysis easier for those who want to keep on top of metrics with added ease.

Dune decodes Ethereum smart contract data to facilitate analysis with simple SQL queries through its interface. This allows instant visualisation of query results into graphs. Further, the cryptocurrency sector is seeing a surge in valuations, with analytics companies like Coin Metrics and DappRadar enjoying comparable interest. With digital asset trading broadly unregulated, and the technology still very much developing, the value of strong analytics could prove immeasurable going forward.

Founded in 2018, Dune has enjoyed a remarkably swift rise; 2022 funding has granted it unicorn status and it is seeing rising popularity in the sector. For now, however, the company is focussed very much on improving accessibility for crypto data, and growing its team.
