Who you are
- 5+ years proven B2B / SaaS Product Design experience
- Expertise in UX/UI design principles, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design work
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in iterative design cycles
- Aptitude for addressing intricate design challenges and steering the development of innovative solutions
- Experience with design systems (creating, using, and maintaining)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders effectively and influence decision-making processes
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to tackle complex design challenges
- Take a strategic view to everything you do - your work stands the test of time
- Passionate about craftsmanship and the impact of design
- Ability to mentor and motivate a team towards achieving design excellence
- Based in Paris OR be willing to relocate (relocation assistance possible)

- Powered by skilled R&D, Product & Actuarial teams we’ve developed unique AI algorithms that automate the insurance pricing and reserving in an unprecedented way
- This results in a pricing solution which not only allows insurance companies to model their risks 10 times faster, with a higher predictive power than traditional methods, but which also incorporates next generation reserving functionalities, helping to predict and legislate for future claims, therefore constituting a major game changer for the insurance industry
- We're seeking a talented Senior Product Designer to join our team in Paris
- Your role will involve shaping, developing, and bringing to life all user-facing elements of Akur8 products
- In this role, you'll serve as a strategic partner to both Engineering and Product Management, focusing on a dedicated product domain
- You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our design solutions align with industry standards and best practices
- Your seniority will mean that you’re instrumental in driving high-quality design outcomes, both in terms of supporting the design team, as well as advocating for design excellence across the organization
- Demonstrate exceptional skills in Design craft, encompassing UX/UI design, user research, and design ops
- Tackle complex design problems by collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions
- Inform your designs with both qualitative and data-driven insights on user needs and pain points
- Uphold a high-quality bar for design deliverables, ensuring they meet user needs and align with business objectives with oversight from relevant stakeholders
- Support the Product Design team in delivering high-quality design solutions, through design critiques and close team collaboration
- Contribute to the evolution of our design system, ensuring it adheres to industry best practices while embodying our brand's distinct identity
- Manage stakeholders effectively, communicating design decisions, and evangelizing the value of design throughout the organization
- Be an integral member of a team of Designers driven by a passion for learning and growth
- Be autonomous and responsible for your time and deliverables
Our take
Putting the correct pricing on insurance has always been a challenge for insurers. Pricing too low can decimate profits, but pricing too high is a sure-fire way to drive off customers. Despite this importance of pricing, it has generally remained a human task, and therefore prone to errors and biases.
AKUR8 wants to change this, delivering an AI-based solution that automates pricing modelling for insurers, while maintaining the transparency and control required by regulators. By leveraging machine learning, the platform enhances insurers’ pricing processes, reducing modelling time whilst increasing predictive power.
Recently, AKUR8 has expanded its platform with Rate Repo and Deploy, providing a unified, end-to-end actuarial workflow from model creation to live deployment, and with AKUR8 Discover, integrating AI-driven market and regulatory intelligence from AMatrisk.
