What the job involves
- We are seeking an innovative and dynamic Director of Business Development to lead our sales efforts to home builders and developers in the Mid-Atlantic or Denver, CO market at Dandelion
- In this pivotal role, you will be a critical part of the new team delivering Dandelion’s growth with new construction production developers and other large scale B2B opportunities
- Get a rapid jumpstart supporting leadership’s existing customer pipeline while simultaneously building your own book of business. Expect to work directly with department leadership to shape and implement the growth of our new construction team and offerings
- Build and Expand Networks with Home Builders:
- Establish and nurture relationships with top home builders across the Mid-Atlantic or Denver, CO market to create and secure sales opportunities
- Actively attend industry and regional events to engage with potential clients and strengthen your professional network
- Leverage Dandelion’s existing connections to discover new opportunities and deepen relationships within established accounts, ensuring a steady flow of new business leads
- Collaborate with the Sales Engineering Team to Develop Winning Proposals:
- Work hand-in-hand with our sales engineering team to craft compelling and technically sound proposals that meet client needs
- Gather and analyze technical information from accounts to specify designs that align with client expectations and Dandelion’s strategic goals
- Ensure that each project design is not only innovative but also profitable for Dandelion, balancing technical requirements with financial viability
- Collaborate with accounts to understand and incorporate their financial requirements, creating proposals that are both competitive and feasible
- Work with the Policy Team to Optimize Rebates:
- Stay informed about available rebates for projects in the pipeline, ensuring that clients are aware of all potential financial benefits
- Communicate rebate details clearly and effectively to clients, building their confidence in incorporating these benefits into their financial planning and proposals
- Achieve and Surpass Sales Targets:
- Consistently meet and exceed quarterly and annual sales targets, demonstrating exceptional drive and determination
- Close deals that match or exceed your booking targets, contributing significantly to Dandelion’s growth and success
Our take
Dandelion Energy aims to make geothermal heat pumps mainstream. In doing so, it offers homeowners affordable heating and cooling systems as an attractive alternative to furnace systems that rely on gas, oil and propane. It promises to cut bills in half whilst being climate conscious.
One issue taken is that whilst it offers this solution to cut the costs of bills, installation costs remain high. However there's no denying the environmental impacts heat pump usage could have. Replacing dated equipment with Dandelion's geothermal heating and cooling system could reduce a home’s CO₂ emissions by up to 75%.
Dandelion has impressive backers, unsurprising as a product incubated at Google’s Alphabet ‘X’. It has received a significant amount of funding led by Google Ventures, which it will use to sell its tech nationally as well as expand its work with new home and apartment building developers.
