Role
Who you are
- Degree level technical qualification, ideally Product Design Engineering, Mechanical or Industrial Design Engineering
- 2-3 years minimum experience in Mechanical/ Product Design/ Industrial Design environment
- Experience in the consumer goods household appliance space desirable
- Experience in plastic manufacturing processes desirable
- Experience of delivering real world products to market
- Uses Solidworks or Creo to a proficient level
- Identify, solve, implement and verify technical solutions autonomously as part of a team
- “Hands-on” - building of prototypes, product testing in the lab, developing and reporting
- Flexible and collaborative- these are key to success at SharkNinja
- Positive attitude with an inquisitive nature
What the job involves
- We are looking for a Product Design Engineer to help us create a new generation of innovative products across our Shark Beauty ranges. We thrive on designing great products that delight our customers
- Working as part of our London Design Office, in our New Product Development team you will bring technical substance and inspiration to our creative efforts to deliver credible solution to the market.
- Drives or collaborates on design studies (independently and in teams) to solve technical or consumer issues found in the development of a product
- Takes direction on designs through conception, CAD execution, prototyping and verification, whilst consistently working at pace
- Continuously evaluates and improves designs for cost effectiveness, manufacturing improvements, increased quality and value to consumers
- Applies sound engineering standards to deliver real solutions
- Builds on understanding & experience of high-volume manufacturing processes and materials to optimize designs
- Communicates effectively and professionally with colleagues
- Supports other team members and encourages their efforts
- Collaborates seamlessly with our U.S. and China based Product Development teams to ensure that great ideas make it through to production

SharkNinja has been in operation since 1994, which is testament to the quality and popularity of its products. Since its initial launch in Canada, the company has expanded into the US and the UK. In 2017 SharkNinja was bought by CDH Private Equity for over $1.5 Billion, further proof of its impressive market value. Perhaps more evidence is that it brings in annual revenues of around $4B.
SharkNinja’s main challenge is facing down big-name competitors such as home appliance giant Dyson. In fact, through innovative design, it seized the market-leading spot in traditional vacuums from Dyson and is only second to iRobot in sales of robotic models. A 2023 IPO saw an extra $296 million in funding added to SharkNinja's pot and was followed by product launches in new sectors such as air conditioning and food cooling, indicating that the company is still full of new product ideas.
