Our take

Over 1.7 billion people around the world are unbanked and can’t access the financial services they need. This means they are missing out on some of the key ingredients of business success.

Kiva wants to fix this. In a nutshell, it offers crowdfunded loans that unlock capital for underserved communities. This not only enhances the quality and affordability of financial services but also tackles the underlying obstacles to financial inclusion. Kiva's approach revolves around providing loans rather than donations, bringing sustainable transformation to deserving communities where previous charity-based efforts provided only temporary relief.

Kiva's achievements are remarkable: to date, it has facilitated over $2.4 billion in loans, benefiting over 5 million people in over 90 countries. With rapid advancements in communication and transportation fueling global interconnectedness, Kiva is poised for further growth. This global shift presents new opportunities worldwide, positioning Kva to expand its positive impact.
