Who you are
- 6+ years of significant expertise in frontend engineering and/or platform engineering

What the job involves
- As a Staff Platform Engineer, you’ll play a meaningful role in making sure our engineering teams have the tools, frameworks, and infrastructure needed to deliver exceptional user experiences at scale
- You’ll help shape the architecture of our frontend systems, drive best practices for performance and maintainability, and enable faster development cycles through platform innovation
- By collaborating with cross-functional teams, you'll ensure our platform remains robust, flexible, and easy to use, empowering developers to focus on creating impactful features that serve our users
- Your contributions will directly enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the entire organization, ultimately helping Zocdoc connect patients and providers more seamlessly
- Taking full ownership of architecting and building core frontend platform components and libraries to support cross-team initiatives
- Collaborating closely with design, product, and backend engineering teams to create seamless and performant user experiences
- Authentically mentoring and coaching engineers on best practices, code reviews, and technical decisions to elevate the entire team's performance
- Developing and maintaining reliable, scalable, and accessible web solutions that prioritize the needs of Zocdoc users
- Building and fostering strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders to align on technical direction and deliverables

The healthcare system often runs on inefficiencies; patients call outdated directories, wait weeks for a visit to a professional and are often hit with surprise bills. Zocdoc was founded to streamline the fragmented healthcare experience by putting the patient first.
The platform allows millions of users each month to view open appointment times with doctors, book instantly online, read verified reviews, and keep up-to-date with checkups.
