Who you are

Strong software development experience, incl. 5+ years of strong experience with Ruby on Rails and SQL databases
Strong experience building highly scalable systems
Ability to hold the team to high standards for security and data privacy practices
Familiar with Git and Git flow; familiar with modern project management tools
Write high standard, beautiful, maintainable and reusable code
A background working in product teams at startups

What the job involves

Reports to: Engineering Manager
Work Hours: 9am GMT - 6pm GMT
To build and maintain the back-end of our web applications, which includes scaling up our RESTful API, optimizing the response time of the API and the proprietary algorithm, and creating a new product that will integrate with the existing platform
Participate in the entire product life cycle
Write clean code to develop functional web applications
Drive the development of a new product internally
Provide training and support to internal teams
Work closely with our CTO and product team to establish priorities and manage our technical road-map
Help to mentor junior developers
Bring new development ideas to benefit the business and grow your own skills

Our take

Easyship was conceived when its founders noticed that there was no ‘plug- in” solution for shipping, as there is for online payments. Its service adds shipment options to eCommerce pages to make the shipping of a product internationally as easy as the payment.

Easyship enables direct access to over 250 global courier services, including UPS, FedEx and DHL, and claims to offer the cheapest international shipping rates. The platform’s various tools and automated services essentially allow business to focus on their products and growth whilst EasyShip manages their shipping needs.

Its global reach is expansive with offices in Hong Kong, New York, London, Singapore and Australia, positioning itself as the leading shipping solution to businesses that want to reach their clients worldwide. It also continues to expand its value, for example by offering the full bundle of FedEx Delivery solutions for small businesses, and launching a "Link Your Own Carrier" integration with ePost Global.
