Who you are

A passionate engineer with a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (or related field) and hands-on PCB design experience
Skilled in high-speed board layout and signal integrity, ideally with 100/400/800 GbE, GDDR6/7, or PCIe Gen5/6 designs
Comfortable working across electrical, mechanical, and thermal domains to deliver reliable, manufacturable solutions
Confident using ECAD tools like Allegro/System Capture (Altium experience is a plus)
A natural problem-solver who enjoys debugging, fine-tuning, and optimizing designs for real-world conditions
A design owner to lead complex PCB layouts (16+ layers) from concept to mass production
A collaborator who can partner with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, thermal, and manufacturability goals
A technical communicator to work with ODMs and manufacturing partners for seamless production handoffs
A contributor who helps refine design processes and best practices as part of a fast-moving engineering team

What the job involves

We’re looking for a talented and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to help bring our next-generation products to life
In this role, you’ll take full ownership of designing complex, high-speed, multi-layer PCBs that sit at the heart of our cutting-edge systems
You will be designing desktop and server grade boards and PCIe cards based on AI CPUs built by Tenstorrent
You’ll work across disciplines, drive innovation from concept to production, and see your designs directly power real-world performance
How to design next-generation, high-density PCBs that push speed and performance boundaries
The ins and outs of AI, compute, and networking systems that rely on advanced board design
How to bridge design and manufacturing, seeing your work through to real, shipped products
Techniques for reducing emissions, optimizing power delivery, and improving thermal performance
How to collaborate in a team that values innovation, craftsmanship, and technical depth

Our take

Tenstorrent is a US- and Canada-based semiconductor startup specializing in processors for AI workloads. Rather than building gneral-purpose CPUs or GPus, the company develops custom chips and sofrware optimized for running moder AI models. As demand for AI accelerates, and as a global chip shortage reshapes the semiconductor industry, these trends have become strong tailwinds for Tenstorrent.

The company’s unique approach is to build for this future software, which it believes will be written at a higher level. Combining this with conditional computing, Tenstorrent supports a scalable distributed network approach that is analogous to a human brain.

While the market for specialized AI hardware is destined to be gigantic, the company has to compete with a plethora of hopeful startups (as well as major tech companies like NVIDIA and Qualcomm). That said, Tenstorrent boasts an excellent trajectory so far, with its latest moves including unveiling its high-end Wormhole AI processors, and a partnership with LG which will see the development of chips for "Affectionate Intelligence".
