Role
Who you are
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including direct experience with revenue accounting under ASC 606
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting month-end close processes
- Proficiency in Excel (e.g. pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
- Expertise working cross functionally (eg. Finance, Billing or Operations teams) utilizing strong communication skills to resolve data or process issues
- While having the preferred qualifications enhances your candidacy, having all of them is not mandatory. We encourage all interested applicants to apply, even those who may not meet every preferred requirement
Desirable
- 1+ years experience at a high-growth start-up
- A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation / or currently working towards it
- Proficiency with revenue automation or systems implementations
- Public accounting experience
- Hands-on expertise working with large or complex datasets to identify discrepancies
- A passion for problem solving and process improvements, using emerging tools and technologies (e.g. AI) to drive operational efficiencies
What the job involves
- We are hiring a Sr Revenue Accountant to enable Rula’s Revenue Accounting team through accounting excellence, technological innovation, and improved revenue accounting processes
- This person will be responsible for key parts of the monthly close, financial reporting, and compliance
- You will apply your knowledge of revenue accounting to help ensure proper revenue recognition and partner cross-functionally to support scalable revenue operations
- You’ll be joining a collaborative, detail-oriented team that values ownership and continuous improvement

More than half of adults in the US will be diagnosed with a mental illness during their lifetime, and yet inaccessibility of treatment remains a huge problem. That’s what Rula aims to solve, with its platform that matches users to therapists that are covered by their insurance.
The company, formerly known as Path, is partnered with a number of major health insurers, including UnitedHealthcare and Anthem, making it an accessible service for millions of Americans. It allows users to browse therapists almost instantly, with just a short questionnaire to fill in before their matches are shown.
Though the market for tech services offering mental health provision is an overstuffed one, with giants like BetterHelp as well as newer competitors, Rula's partnerships with insurers set it apart. The business has been steadily growing, and significantly bolstered its executive team in 2023. Its recent rebrand was designed to emphasise its vision to improve not only access to mental health care, but also clinical outcomes.
