Role
Who you are
- 3+ years’ experience in a Senior HR role, ideally in a fast-paced environment
- Strong working knowledge of Irish employment law, comfortable driving disciplinary and grievance processes
- Confident communicator with excellent influencing and problem-solving skills
- Passionate about building a strong culture and helping people thrive
- Self-starter, adaptable, creative and comfortable working in a scale-up environment
- HR Degree or CIPD qualified
What the job involves
- The Senior HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting managers and employees across the business. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to our leaders, providing guidance on all things people - from employee relations and performance to culture and engagement
- You’ll partner with the HR Manager across every stage of the employee lifecycle — from onboarding to offboarding — ensuring everything we do is compliant, consistent, and people-first, making Manna an amazing place to work
- Business Partnership:
- Partner with managers across all our teams to deliver proactive, value-added HR support
- Build trusted relationships with team leads, providing coaching, feedback, and guidance on people-related matters with support of the HR Manager
- Support workforce planning, learning and development and performance management
- Employee Relations:
- Provide practical advice on disciplinary, grievance, and performance matters
- Ensure adherence to company policies and employment legislation
- Performance & Development:
- Support the success of People frameworks including Performance for Growth (P4G) and Learning for Growth (L4G)
- Coach managers to set clear goals, give feedback, and drive accountability
- Set employees up for success through personal development planning and coaching
- Culture & Engagement:
- Drive employee engagement initiatives
- Champion Manna’s values through initiatives that foster inclusion, recognition, and high performance
- Compliance & Administration:
- Ensure policies are in line with employment legislation as appropriate
- Support payroll and onboarding processes as required
- Accountable for the continuous improvement of HR policies and processes
Our take
Manna Drone Delivery is a drone company that began operating hyper-locally in Ireland, making small deliveries in partnership with JustEat, Tescos, and a number of coffee and book shops. The service has proven popular to the tune of thousands of deliveries, and Manna is now expanding towards full rollout.
Efficient, low-emission, and high agility drones are expected to be the future of last-mile deliveries. Whilst there are some questions as to whether they’re a smart addition to built up areas, the consensus is that they will at least provide a welcome complement to other delivery vehicles. As such, getting in early with the correct technology could open up substantial doors for Manna.
The company is eyeing up US expansion, which may seem ambitious for the relatively small outfit. Bear in mind, however, that Alphabet’s suburban drone delivery subsidiary Wing is carrying out similar hyper-local testing in Logan Australia. This means there’s certainly no major player emerging yet in the US - and the prime candidates are doing precisely what Manna is to get their foot in the door.
