Role
Who you are
- 2+ years experience in digital marketing, account management, business development, or sales
- Strong written and spoken communication skills in English
- Strong negotiating skills: Experience negotiating commercial terms preferred
- Working knowledge of at least two of the following performance marketing disciplines: content marketing, PR, SEO, social media, and online advertising
- Strong analytical skills and confidence analyzing data
- Account management: experience in managing partnerships, and building and maintaining relationships
- Experience with digital marketing tools such as SEMrush, and Ahrefs,
- Ability to work autonomously and prioritize multiple responsibilities based on ROI and business value
- You’re a fast learner driven to excel in your field
- Experience with conversion rate optimization
- Experience with Google Analytics
- Existing network of relevant contacts

What the job involves
- Proton is hiring a Partnerships Marketing Manager to join our growing Partnerships Team
- You will be responsible for growing your key partnerships with online publishers, blogs, and networks
- You’ll work with our affiliate partners to ensure their sales funnels are optimized, while also researching, recruiting, and negotiating new partnerships
- The new affiliate role is expected to have a significant impact on the growth of Proton Mail and Proton Pass products
- This role will be responsible for building relationships with key affiliate partners and helping them to create content that introduces Proton’s products to their audience
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with affiliate partners
- Optimizing existing affiliate performance: Analyze and identify areas that are under-performing, and work with affiliate partners to improve performance
- Researching, identifying, and recruiting new affiliate partnerships, targeting both affiliates already in the industry and those that are new to the space
- Collaborating with PR and product teams to ensure partners have all the latest product updates and releases

Proton is a Geneva-based startup founded by former CERN worker and internet privacy advocate Andy Yen. It provides internet users with encrypted webmail, calendar, drive, and VPN services.
Proton maintains its pro-privacy ethos using a Swiss VPN, protected by strict Swiss privacy laws. In essence, it has established a connection between the personal and the political, smartly utilising the country’s national laws to benefit people and organisations globally. Proton also funds charities and movements such as the World Wide Web Foundation and Netblocks, further cementing it as an influential NGO.
Perhaps Proton’s most important quality is its determination to maintain independence from advertisers and companies. Originally founded on donations, Proton has funded itself via grants rather than venture capital so that all of its customer's data is never at risk of being mined. One effect of this is that to keep up with the increasing competition in the data privacy sector, Proton has expanded its services to allow more cross-selling and simultaneously has more products to offer, such as drive and calendar privacy.
