Role
Who you are
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in using open-source tools for monitoring and observability, along with a passion for driving continuous improvement and innovation
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proven experience in monitoring and observability using open source tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, DataDog)
- Expertise in self-healing autonomics and automated system recovery
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Desirable
- Experience with messaging systems like Kafka, NATS and Flink
- Java
- Familiarity with Chef or Ansible
- Machine Learning
What the job involves
- We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Observability Manager to join our team
- This individual will be responsible for overseeing our monitoring and observability efforts, ensuring the health and performance of our systems through proactive measures and self-healing autonomics
- This will include reactive tuning based on metrics, logging and distributed tracing, but also proactive changes via Machine Language learning
- Develop and implement comprehensive observability strategies to monitor the performance and health of our systems
- Utilize open-source tools to create robust monitoring solutions that provide actionable insights
- Lead initiatives in self-healing autonomics to ensure system resilience and uptime
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues proactively
- Drive the adoption of best practices in monitoring and observability across the organization
- Analyze data and metrics to continuously improve system performance and reliability by automating manual processes and capacity planning
- Develop Machine Language algorithms to integrate with AI systems that will consume and learn from our monitoring data
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in observability and autonomics
