Who you are
- 5+ years or direct sales experience, 2+ as a team lead or manager
- Familiar with B2B SaaS Sales Motions and Methodologies (MEDDPICC, Sandler, FORCE Mgmt, etc)
- Motivated by helping people grow with a desire to continue learning
- A self-starter who thrives in a high-growth, rapidly changing marketplace
- Proven in overseeing an outbound Sales team in all areas of the sales cycle
- Strong understanding of the Cloud Ecosystem (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Passion for coaching, growing and motivating others through educating, challenging and inspiring others to do their best work
- Ability to provide constructive, timely feedback in an effort to coach and grow others
- Excellent project management and time management skills; relentless focus and ability to pivot and adapt to shifting priorities and objectives
- Excellent presentation skills; Ability to captivate and engage diverse audiences
What the job involves
- The Manager, Commercial Sales provides sales coaching, mentorship, and motivation for a team of Commercial Account Executives. The Commercial team is one of the fastest growing areas of CloudZero, and is critical to logo acquisition predictability of our business
- Lead, coach, build, inspire and manage the Commercial sales team to achieve revenue targets and business objectives
- Monitor sales metrics and provide regular reports on performance, forecasts, and market insights to senior management
- Develop and execute sales strategies to drive growth in assigned markets and customer segments
- Identify new business opportunities and cultivate relationships with prospective clients
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to align sales efforts with company goals and customer needs
- Conduct market research to understand competitive landscape and industry trends
- Train, mentor, and motivate sales team members to enhance their performance and professional growth
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients to maximize profitability and ensure customer satisfaction
- Attend industry events and conferences to network and represent CloudZero
Our take
Cloud infrastructure has become the crucial foundation for almost all digital native businesses. However, as these companies expand that means ballooning cloud computing costs, often approaching 1/3 of a company's IT budget.
Since finance teams are not usually specialists in the scaling requirements and value of cloud infrastructure, that means businesses as a whole are sometimes failing to properly evaluate a critical part of their organization's spend.
CloudZero fixes this by providing transparency into a company’s cloud server costs. Its platform works by aligning engineering, infrastructure, and finance teams around metrics that non-technical teams can work with. The company has built a solid customer base of over 100 businesses including the likes of SkyScanner, Remitly and SeatGeek.
The company has recently closed a Series B funding round. It is using this capital and its growing revenue to further develop its platform and scale its marketing. As businesses will increasingly struggle with their cloud computing spend, CloudZero is well poised to provide a solution.
