Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s Degree in software engineering, computer science or related field
- 8+ years of software development experience, master’s degree and 6+ years of software development experience, or equivalent related work experience
- Proven experience in software development, including designing, coding, testing, and debugging applications
- A capable quantitative thinker who learns quickly
- Strongly proficient in Delphi programming language Experience with database technologies (SQL) Experience with standard APIs such as REST, SOAP and JSON, XML
- Experience setting up and managing Windows Servers on AWS, Azure a plus Knowledge of tools like (Zabbix, Docker, PowerShell, GitHub pipelines) is a plus
- A second language is a plus
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
What the job involves
- The Senior Software Engineer will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions for the organization
- This role will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to deliver innovative and scalable software products that meet the needs of our customers and stakeholders
- Expertise and leadership will be vital in guiding the team and ensuring best practices in software development
- Design, develop, and maintain software applications for use within Logistics
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
- Maintain high standards of code quality and integrity
- Participate in code reviews and follow best practices in software development. Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs. Work on complex problems, analyze situations, and apply problem-solving skills. Collaborate with a team of developers, designers, and product managers
- Contribute to team meetings and offer innovative ideas and solutions
- Assist in project planning and adhere to timelines. Report progress and challenges to the management team
- Provide second-level contact to customer inquiries, requests, & technical issues via various communication channels to convey resolutions to customer issues
- Where required, demonstrate the software to stakeholders and customers
- Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with customers
- Diagnose & resolve technical issues related to products, software, or services
- Utilize problem-solving skills to analyze and identify root causes of problems and provide solutions or workarounds
- Be a strong collaborator, a part of a small team, that touches every part of the company
Our take
EasyPost's multi-carrier shipping API allows e-commerce businesses to easily switch between logistics companies, track packages, and verify addresses in order to save time and money.
When the company emerged from stealth back in 2013, it was hailed by many as the “Stripe for shipping” because of how effectively it enabled developers to integrate postage and shipping into web applications – a common obstacle due to the outdated systems used by legacy carriers like FedEx and UPS.
EasyPost has gone from strength to strength over the years as e-commerce in general has boomed. It's expanded to over 200 countries, and is now considered a market leader in the shipping API niche.
There have also been numerous reports of an imminent IPO, and though nothing has come to pass as of yet, it's a real indication of the company's strength.
