Role
Who you are
- We’re looking for a creative, technical self-starter to build the platform that runs agents at Imprint
- The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, loves building, and understands how to balance pragmatism with technical vision
- You should be comfortable stitching together APIs one day and wrangling embeddings or RAG pipelines the next
- 5-7 years of experience in a high-growth technical environment, or in roles requiring self-starting, entrepreneurial, or technical skills
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Go (our primary backend language), Java, Python, or similar languages
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks (OpenAI API, Claude API, Gemini)
- Comfortable building solutions through prompting and occasionally working with code or APIs
- Familiarity with AI tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Notion AI, and automation tools like Dust, Gumloop, n8n, or Zapier
- Deep understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, and agent frameworks
- Experience with RAG architectures and model evaluation
- Knowledge of AI safety and security practices
- Customer-centric approach translating business needs into technical solutions
- Experience building internal tools and developer-facing products
- Strong API design and system integration skills

What the job involves
- You’ll develop Imprint’s agent platform and iterate on taking those agents from toys to critical capabilities
- As a Senior AI Engineer, you will accelerate AI adoption across every function at Imprint. You will design and deploy AI automation agents, build intelligent solutions, and drive an AI-native culture company-wide
- This role blends technical execution with cross-functional enablement
- You'll build agents, evangelize their use, and measure their impact
- You’ll work end-to-end, partnering with organizations across Imprint to integrate with internal systems and ship valuable, secure agent-based interfaces
- You’ll be trusted to move fast, experiment ambitiously, and scale what works
- This work will require a mix of customer-centric product development, hands-on experience with modern AI frameworks, software engineering fundamentals, and a passion for automation
- Platform & Agent Development:
- Design Imprint's internal agent platform from the ground up
- Create 100+ specialized AI agents automating workflows across engineering, operations, customer success, finance, and business development
- Cross-Functional integration:
- Build secure, scalable agent orchestration systems integrating with our existing tech stack
- Partner with teams across Imprint to identify high-impact automation opportunities
- Integrate AI with internal systems (CRMs, data warehouses, communication tools, proprietary platforms)
- Transform manual processes into intelligent, self-improving workflows
- Create intuitive interfaces, making advanced AI accessible to non-technical users
- Technical Innovation:
- Rapidly prototype using cutting-edge AI frameworks and models
- Implement RAG pipelines, embedding systems, and multi-modal AI solutions
- Balance experimental innovation with production reliability and security
Our take
These days, all sorts of cards abound, from virtual cards to co-branded credit cards. Imprint aims to stand out in the increasingly crowded space by partnering with businesses to provide branded rewards cards for customers.
While there has been an increase in the number of companies offering branded financial products to reduce costs, Imprint sees its card programs as offering a new platform for deepening customer relationships: less of the nastiness of credit and a much greater focus on rewards.
The startup is focusing on refining its embedded finance solution to fulfil its vision of an Apple-pay like experience for merchants and consumers.
Imprint will hope that its lightweight service, fit for smaller customers like hotel chains, will allow it to compete with the major venture-backed players in the space like Cardless, Apto and Alviere. And its $75M in venture capital raised in 2023 is going some way towards achieving these aims.
