Who you are

This individual will have a strong background in systems and process implementation, especially with a scaling organization
BA in accounting required
CPA required
7-10 years of experience
Mix of public accounting (Big 4 accounting firm) and industry experience
Prior experience managing a team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
San Francisco Bay area or Chicagoland area preferred

What the job involves

The Assistant Controller will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and ensuring strong compliance with accounting policies and procedures
Reporting directly to the Controller, the Assistant Controller will manage the Corporate Accounting and Payroll teams while serving as a key partner across Finance and business leadership
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and functions such as general ledger, consolidations, and payroll
Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analysis
Manage the preparation and review of financial statements, including global consolidations and reporting to the parent company
Partner with auditors and ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
Design and enhance scalable systems, internal controls, and accounting policies to support growth
Drive automation and efficiency in Procure-to-Pay, payroll, and close processes
Collaborate closely with FP&A, business operations, and executive leadership to provide insights that drive decision-making
Oversee payroll for the global company
Lead financial due diligence and integration planning for acquisitions
Partner cross-functionally to ensure seamless post-acquisition integration into financial systems and reporting
