Role
Who you are
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Math, Economics, Statistics, or other quantitative fields
- 4+ years of work experience doing quantitative analysis (preferably in the tech industry) and a proven track record of impacting a business or product decisions
- Pro-level ability to synthesize and communicate complex concepts and analyses in simple, easy-to-understand ways, to a wide range of technical and non-technical audiences
- Past experience in A/B testing, and a strong foundational knowledge of core inferential statistics concepts (significance, power, confidence intervals, variance, etc.)
- Fluency in SQL. Experience pulling highly dimensional and complex data, as well as modeling scenarios and sensitivity analysis using Excel
- Experience with Python or another programming tool for statistical modeling
- Familiarity with Tableau or any BI tool
- Familiarity with cloud data technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Databricks to query and build data models and reports
- Positive attitude and a healthy dose of natural curiosity. Questions have to be answered and our data isn't just going to analyze itself. (We're working on that.)

- A love of gaming and familiarity with the games industry
- Understanding of data science and machine learning techniques
- Experience working with very large data sets and distributed computing (Hive/Hadoop)

What the job involves
- The Senior Data Analyst I, Product within Mistplay's Data department will play a crucial role in enhancing Mistplay's business performance through insightful analysis and driving analytics strategy
- Reporting to the Manager of Data Analytics & Experimentation, you will collaborate with Product & Lifecycle Managers to plan and analyze the results of A/B tests, and drive insights reporting in order to inform the release of new product features and engagement strategies
- Conduct proactive analysis to identify actionable insights, including diving into the core product funnel, user cohorts, and analyzing user behaviour data, in order to identify areas of the user experience that can be improved to drive new business opportunities
- Define KPIs for the company and build automated dashboards, reports, and models to enable teams at Mistplay to make better decisions
- Design, orchestrate, and analyze the results of multivariate product experiments to help drive growth, improve existing product features, and test new areas of opportunity
- Collaborate with data, product, marketing, and engineering stakeholders to define business problems, scope out projects, identify risks and dependencies, and create execution plans
Our take
Customer retention in mobile gaming can lead to increased ad revenue and more immersive experiences. Mistplay is a loyalty program helping publishers achieve a higher hit rate on their games, whilst simultaneously rewarding gamers for their loyalty.
Its loyalty programme involves curated game recommendation libraries, as well as rewards for partaking in challenges and tournaments. Publishers gain increased ad revenue for partnering with Mistplay as well as the chance to capitalize on a 6 million+ userbase. Indeed, Mistplay has grown significantly since its launch in 2016, resulting in a buyout by GrowthCurve Capital in 2021.
Whilst it mainly focused on Android devices up until 2025, the release of Mistplay for iPhone marks a step up for the company. It's rewarded advertising and loyalty programmes can now reach an even larger consumer base, indicating a promising future for the pioneering ad and gaming platform.
