What the job involves
- Sales Development Representatives are crucial to Flexera’s success as they own the top of the sales funnel and are chartered with developing new business opportunities by establishing contact with key IT decision makers and pitching Flexera’s value proposition
- They accomplish this via research and proactive outreach using a variety of mediums, including phone, video, email, social media, and creative outlets that catch positive attention
- Flexera provides comprehensive training across our entire product portfolio of highly complex software solutions and equips each SDR with a top-notch technology stack, including Salesforce.com, Outreach, and LinkedIn Navigator, that enables success
- This team aligns closely with Field Sales, Operations, and Marketing to develop plans, measure results, and adapt to dynamic business and customer needs. These partnerships also provide SDRs with an upward career path into these functions
- Research, prospect, and develop new leads within target accounts
- Partner with Account Executives and Field Marketing to develop creative programs and events to drive pipeline-building efforts within target accounts
- Leverage technology like Outreach, Salesforce, LinkedIn, and Alyce to enable active engagement with new and existing contacts through creative initial approaches and follow-up communications designed to increase customer interest
- Conduct high-level conversations with senior executives in target accounts
- Secure meaningful interactions for Account Executives
- Actively participate in and contribute to team learning opportunities and personal development
- Achieve quarterly quotas of qualified opportunities and pipeline progression
- Engage contacts from target accounts for local and national events created by marketing

Spun out of legacy company InstallShield dating back to 1987 and its leading software product Flexnet Manager, Flexera offers a range of solutions including IT asset management, IT visibility, and cloud migration.
It’s the latter that in the present day seems to be the most popular product from not only Flexera, but competitors too. Flexera was cited in the summer 2022 by Information Services Group as a global leader in hyperconverge infrastructure solutions (HCI) systems, that uses cloud computing as a basis for its build.
The company has been a shapeshifting entity on the market for decades now, with a flexible range of services that in 2023 include the Flexera One FinOps, a solution for the strengthening of cloud central teams. Flexera also saw a buyout by private equity firm Thoma Bravo to the sum of $2.9 billion in 2020. And since then has gone on acquisition spree of its own. Now the company boasts 50,00 customers worldwide and has offices across the globe.
