Solid backend software development experience
Java/Spring Boot ecosystem, Hibernate
Microservices, event-driven architectures, REST APIs
Relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred), transactions and concurrency, maintaining large, high-traffic tables

What the job involves

This is a full-time remote opportunity for candidates based in Germany
As part of the investment team, you will manage multiple microservices and supporting library projects in our event-driven microservices architecture powered by Kafka. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of savings accounts, campaigns (rewards), and the entire investment platform, taxation, etc
You will work on financial-grade, high-throughput systems that must be correct and auditable, while integrating with a broader ecosystem of microservices managed by other teams
A small and efficient cross-functional team dedicated to high engineering standards. As our project portfolio expands, we offer an engaging work atmosphere packed with continuous learning opportunities

Our take

A recent study showed that only 37% of Mexicans over the age of 15 have a bank account. Backed by Mastercard, Klar wants to change that statistic. Not only is it trying to create an easier day-to-day banking experience for its users, but it's also actively looking to help its users apply for credit with no annuity.

Klar has made an impact in the space (successfully attracting three million users) and has been experiencing a period of hypergrowth. As a result, it has attracted significant funding and also acquired SOMOS, a credit data service. These big wins for Klar will enable it to continue to challenge some more well-established competitors like Kubo and Fondeadora.

Moving forward on the back of $200 million in funding between 2021 and 2025, the company is focused on strengthening its credit offerings, building more borrowing products and reaching profitability.
