Hands-on experience applying Kimball modeling principles to large datasets
Expertise in working with analytical table/file formats, including Iceberg, Hudi, Parquet, Avro, and ORC
Proven experience optimizing MPP databases (StarRocks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
2+ years of programming experience in either Python, Java, or Scala
Advanced SQL skills, with a strong ability to write, optimize, and debug complex queries
Hands-on experience with Airflow for batch orchestration distributed computing frameworks like Spark or Flink
This position requires access to export controlled information. What the job involves

The Data Engineering team builds foundational datasets and analytics services that enable BI and data science across CoreWeave. We seek to democratize insights and foster a culture where data-driven decision-making thrives at every level
We’re seeking a skilled Data Engineer to develop foundational data models that empower our Business Intelligence engineers, analysts, and data scientists to efficiently work with and gain insights from our data.
This role will create and maintain star and snowflake schemas within our lakehouse environment, and generate key datasets and metrics essential to tracking business health
Develop and maintain data models, including star and snowflake schemas, to support analytical needs across the organization
Engineer and optimize data storage using analytical table/file formats (e.g., Iceberg, Parquet, Avro, ORC)
Partner with BI, analytics, and data science teams to design datasets that accurately reflect business metrics
Tune and optimize data in MPP databases such as StarRocks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift
Collaborate on data workflows using Airflow, building and managing pipelines that power our analytical infrastructure
Ensure efficient processing of large datasets through distributed computing frameworks like Spark or Flink

Our take

Many cloud service providers can suffer from slow prediction speeds when they are used for data modeling. CoreWeave solves this problem with its specialized cloud service provider.

CoreWeave reduces prediction times and makes service requests faster and more efficient. This, in turn, cuts cloud costs considerably. This has proven to be a strong draw for many companies, with CoreWeave signing a lucrative partnership with GPU heavyweight NVIDIA as well as partnering with BitOoda, which has allowed it to expand its operations to the financial market.

However, in 2023 it closed three very significant rounds of funding (Series B and debt and secondary extensions), which is being invested into expanding its US-based data centers, opening two new ones in the coming year. The question remains whether, despite 2023's big investments in the sector, CoreWeave can maintain this momentum and whether generative AI's stock will continue to rise.
