Who you are
- Experience - 3+ years of experience working as Software Engineering Manager within a high performing Engineering organization
- 8+ years of experience in software development and delivery, with in-depth knowledge of software architectures
- Experience in building and managing large scale software applications in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Education - Ideally looking for a B.A. / B.S. degree in relevant fields such as Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Technical aptitude - You’re technologically savvy and can easily get up to speed on modern tech stacks (we use Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, AWS, Postgres, Kafka, Kubernetes)

What the job involves
- Altruist is in the midst of an exceptional growth phase and we’re excited to hire a Sr Engineering Manager to join our Transfers & Cashiering and High Yield Cash team, covering Bank linking (via plaid and manual), ACATS, Scheduled deposits and withdrawals,Internal journals (transfers between brokerage accounts),Move Money Authorization (advisors ability to move money for their clients),Required minimum distributions from retirement accounts,All the withdrawal codes and tax withholdings from retirement accounts, FDIC sweep program for cash in brokerage accounts, direct deposit, bill pay etc..
- As a Sr Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in running our critical functions of the company and lead 2 teams of 6-7 engineers and responsible for 2 product areas
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you'll deliver new features, reduce our technical debt, mentor the team and manage project delivery
- Collaborate with product management and design teams to understand business needs, growth objectives, and market dynamics
- Create a culture of innovation and technical excellence, encouraging experimentation and exploring new opportunities for company growth
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, automation, tools, and methodologies to enhance operational efficiency and quality
- Provide strong leadership to the engineering team, enabling a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Set clear goals, expectations, and performance metrics for the engineering teams, holding individuals accountable for their deliverables

Advisors can save time, compress costs and ultimately do more for their clients. Altruist operates a pricing model that scales up with the number of required accounts, unlike some competitor products such as Adviser and Intelliflo which charge a flat monthly subscription fee. Off the back of impressive funding, the company is set to expand its service offerings and support a wider range of RIAs as it becomes a truly comprehensive advising solution.
