Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; Master’s degree preferred
- 12+ years of experience managing complex, large-scale programs, including leadership roles within PMOs or consulting experience with top-tier firms (e.g., Big 4)
- Demonstrated success in leading programs with significant technical and strategic complexity
- Exceptional client-facing and internal communication skills; experience influencing senior and executive leadership
- Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of quality and governance
- Strong technical acumen, with the ability to bridge communication between technical teams and business stakeholders
Desirable
- Deep expertise in the OEM and/or automotive industry is highly desirable
- Experience leading globally distributed cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions
- Expertise in leveraging data-driven decision-making and quantitative analysis for prioritization and strategy development
- Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and define actionable paths to resolution
- Exceptional leadership skills, including stakeholder management, team mentoring, and conflict resolution
- Extensive experience with the Scaled Agile Framework, Scrum practices, and facilitating multi-team planning and execution
- Proven success in managing large-scale technical releases, including UAT planning, dependency tracking, and coordinating deployment activities
- Strong accountability and integrity, with a track record of delivering measurable results
What the job involves
- At Tekion, OEM Partner Implementation has continued to grow at an accelerated pace, requiring expanded leadership within our PMO
- As an Associate Principal Program Delivery Manager (P6 level), you will play a pivotal role in overseeing complex, high-impact OEM partner implementations, driving strategic initiatives, and enhancing program governance
- This position requires strong leadership skills to influence cross-functional teams, senior executives, and external partners, ensuring seamless delivery of Tekion’s business objectives
- Serve as a strategic advisor and partner with the Business Development team to design and execute comprehensive program implementation roadmaps
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership to align program strategies with product goals, ensuring timely delivery and effective communication with OEM partners and senior executives
- Provide leadership to implementation teams to drive success in dealer onboarding and scalability across programs
- Act as the primary escalation point for program challenges, driving resolution in alignment with Tekion’s strategic goals
- Communicate effectively with senior leadership and executive stakeholders to present program updates, risks, and critical decisions
- Design and implement advanced governance frameworks to foster efficiency, transparency, and accountability across all programs
- Mentor and guide PMO team members to foster professional growth and capability development
Our take
Car dealerships suffer from an inefficiency problem. The paperwork and administration required to complete a sale requires dealers to manage a disjointed set of various software applications. Tekion is offering an enticing remedy - a cloud-based automotive retail system that integrates the various software applications in a single infrastructure.
Competition has been strong, with rivals CDK Global and Reynolds & Reynolds offering a competitive raft of features, and benefiting from strong prior relationships with dealerships. Tekion, however, has nevertheless secured customers for the software in 28 states - likely in part due to the efficiency of partnering with a single growing service as opposed to a disparate spread.
This momentum shows no signs of slowing either, as Tekion has attracted attention from major players like CMC, Chrysler, and Chevrolet. By streamlining dealership operations into a single platform, the company is proving that even in a crowded market, innovation and simplicity can win over both dealers and industry partners.
