Who you are
- It’s a perfect fit for someone passionate about people leadership who still loves to flex their technical chops
- Must be based in and have work authorization in Canada
- 2+ years managing engineering teams that have shipped high-value SaaS products
- Deep appreciation for clean, well-factored, and well-tested code—and the ability to coach your team to deliver it
- Passion for growing and mentoring engineers
- Hands-on experience with the TypeScript/NodeJS/Linux stack and SQL with RDBMS
Desirable
- Experience at a startup or high-growth company

- Orum's Engineering Team plays a pivotal role in driving our vision forward. We're tackling some of the toughest challenges sales teams face, and there’s still so much to build. That’s where you come in
- In this role, you’ll lead, mentor, and collaborate on a product that’s loved by customers and makes a meaningful difference in their lives
- This is not your typical Engineering Manager role—it’s impactful, dynamic, and hands-on. You’ll spend 80% of your time empowering and scaling a world-class team through leadership, coaching, and performance management
- The other 20%? Diving into technical challenges, unblocking your team, contributing to PRs, and ensuring engineering excellence
- Hire and manage a team of talented engineers, helping them achieve their full potential
- Collaborate with leadership to define and communicate the product vision and technical architecture to your team
- Shape and delegate engineering tasks, ensuring clarity, alignment, and progress
- Act as a coach, mentor, and unblocker—reviewing work, solving problems, and enabling your team to thrive
- Set and maintain a high bar for technical rigor through well-tested, clean, and maintainable code
Our take
While Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms such as Salesforce and Salesloft have undoubtedly helped shorten the sales cycle, particularly by helping generate high value leads, the onus is still on sales teams to manually reach out to potential customers.
This part of the sales process has long been taken at face value, despite how much time sales agents lose by calling bad numbers, reaching voicemail, and navigating existing account data.
Orum is aiming to change this with an AI powered platform that filters out poor numbers and automates voicemails while calling multiple numbers simultaneously, all in a bid to get sales reps on live calls as quickly and often as possible. That Orum plugs into the major CRMs like Salesforce, rather than competing with them, should help its cause.
Orum’s trajectory has been very positive thus far, frequently expanding its headcount, achieving impressive Series B funding and winning a number of high-profile customers such as Salesforce partner Simplus and data protection company Clumio.
