Who you are

We’re looking for Frontend engineers who are interested in building software services and platforms that impact thousands of employees and millions of Stripe users, regardless of whether they’re an end user, developer, or partner
2-12+ years of front-end development experience, building, running, and debugging web applications using modern JS frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular)
Advanced knowledge of modern HTML and CSS
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug frontend issues
Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with designers, product managers, and product engineers
Appreciation for the importance of good documentation -- internal and external

What the job involves

The Revenue and Financial Automation team at Stripe builds software tools that accelerate the economic and technological growth of global businesses by helping them operationalize their commercial relationships with customers
Our offerings include a billing platform, SaaS analytics, data services, and finance automation products that our customers creatively combine to support various revenue models
Build experiences for businesses that range from high growth startups to leading global companies providing them with the tools so they can run their business and not worry about tax
Put yourself in the shoes of our users and be a steward of crafting great experiences
Takes pride in working on projects to successful completion involving a wide variety of technologies and systems
Uphold our high engineering standards and bring consistency to the many codebases and processes you will encounter
Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization such as product, design, infrastructure, marketing and operations
Work and improve the Stripe Dashboard for merchants
Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack

Our take

Stripe, nowadays a FinTech giant, spent the first few years since its founding building up its payments business, which primarily consisted of providing an API to eCommerce businesses so that they could easily integrate a payments option in their apps or websites, where before there was none.

More recently, Stripe has started to accelerate its growth with a significantly larger range of financial services including cash advances and credit cards. They also plan to build incorporation services, fraud protection, and more, diversifying its revenue away from payments and differentiating itself from its competitors.

To further expand its position, the company is looking to triple its presence in Ireland, and extend its services to countries with vast customer potential, including Brazil and India. Its latest venture, coming atop significant new funds, is to partner with OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT - a win-win collaboration that will monetize OpenAI’s flagship products and at the same time enhance Stripe with GPT-4, as it moves forwards with intentions to "build the payments foundation for tomorrow's AI economy."
