Who you are
- A Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma
- Detail-oriented and a self-starter who wants to grow in a professional sales career
- A strong team player with a positive attitude and passion for building relationships
- Highly motivated, energetic and unparalleled interpersonal skills
- An Exceptional communication skills: verbal, written, listening, and comprehension
- Proficient with business productivity tools (G-suite, etc.)
- Experience using Salesforce.com is considered an asset but not required
- Experience with inside, outbound, or commission-based sales roles is an asset
What the job involves
- We will teach you to be amazing in sales and provide you with the tools to be promoted to progressively more senior sales roles within the organization
- You will work in both inbound and outbound SDR roles
- Inbound is focused on scheduling meetings with marketing leads
- Outbound is more focused on prospecting and scheduling meetings in their own specific territories
- This contains a large focus on not only our newest product (AktivChemistry) but also our full set of solutions for our customers
- The role will also include working in smaller territories where you learn to be a full-cycle sales rep
- You will work closely with our CSMs to build referrals
- We will also teach you to demo our product as we ramp you into the outbound role
- Support inbound leads and prospect for high-value sales leads
- Qualify and develop new contacts within defined prospects and customer accounts
- Set demonstrations of our product (AktivChemistry or Top Hat) through dialling, emailing and responding to marketing leads
- Educate professors on how our product (AktivChemistry or Top Hat) is revolutionizing the world of education and show the value of using our platform in their classrooms
- Track activities and maintain relevant information in the Salesforce.com CRM system
- Other duties as required
Our take
Top Hat is at the apex of two major trends in education: the digitisation of platforms for content and the rising costs of higher education for students. By digitising work largely created by professors, Top Hat has delivered engaging content at a lower cost for students across Canada and North America.
Where traditional publishers rely on analogue processes to provide high-quality but largely unengaging, uninteractive and expensive textbooks, Top Hat markets the platform to professors to publish their own interactive multimedia online textbooks. This gives them a cut and builds a holistic student experience on top of it.
The product has now had so much success that Top Hat’s strategy has evolved to include buying those conventional publishers of postsecondary course materials. This means the company can shift those high-quality materials into digital versions and make them available on a subscription basis.
