What the job involves
- Material Technologies is expanding its reach into B2C with the launch of DesignShop
- DesignShop is reinventing the home design process by taking the most exciting elements of Pinterest and combining them with a massive library of home design materials from hundreds of the country's best brands, all of which are instantly available for overnight sampling
- DesignShop’s shopable inspiration is highly accurate and when coupled with its hyper-realistic interactive design tools, allows users to create beautiful scenes comprised of any material in its library
- It is our expectation that DesignShop will become the world’s most powerful virtual design center
- Joining our team as a Sales Development Representative gives you the opportunity to play a key role in the helping us expand DesignShop
- You will have an opportunity to work directly with the executive team, targeting key enterprise accounts and driving meetings with the DesignShop leadership
- Your focus will be on new customer acquisition, by winning new logos to DesignShops revolutionary marketplace
- We have a clearly defined Sales Methodology that delivers results, and a highly effective team structure to ensure the most effective Customer Journey, from new prospects through to satisfied, expanding, and renewing customer
- We'll give you all you need to get the job done, and make sure you have a lot of fun along the way
- Generate new leads by outbound prospecting at least 100 outreaches a day (cold call, email, social media) and schedule meetings for Senior Management team and Account Executives
- Discover and drive new business opportunities within all segments of the business by working inbound leads through a variety of channels
- Generate sales-ready opportunities for Account Executives using DesignShops’s qualification criteria
- Conduct high-level discovery calls and work as part of a selling team with a focus on the initial relationship development
- Develop strong sales and product knowledge
- Help scale the sales organization through operational innovation

Material Bank is changing this, with a service it describes as being the Expedia of design samples.
Material Bank is the largest materials marketplace for the A&D industry. Offering a wide range of material samples from carpets to hardwoods, all sample orders have next-day delivery availability across Canada and the US, and is always free for design professionals. The company's profit comes from selling spots within its rapidly growing marketplace community to vendors and manufacturers, connecting brands with thousands of vetted design professionals.
It’s an offering with a remarkably tight market fit, demonstrated by its swelling customer base and investment funding. The company has begun its global expansion, having launched in Japan, it is focusing on growing into the European market through an office in Paris. It is also cementing its success through a M&A strategy, most recently incorporating Architizer's architectural project database into its product.
