Role
Who you are
- Qualified accountant (eg CPA, ACA, ACCA) with 5+ years of post-qualified experience
- Proficiency in financial software (eg ERP systems, financial modeling); experience using Xero is a plus
- Experience in a scaling or fast-moving environment preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset
What the job involves
- As our Accounting Manager, you will be our central point of financial control, fully owning our accounting function and shaping the financial health of our growing organization
- You will be responsible for overseeing financial operations and control to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance, and will shape our financial systems as we scale and level up our processes
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Lead the month-end close process and produce management reporting for leadership and external stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (eg IFRS, GAAP) across all entities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, cash, inventory, and the general ledger
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies
- Partner with external auditors and lead audit preparation and documentation
- Ensure compliance with corporate tax, VAT, payroll taxes, and other statutory requirements
- Manage tax filings and support tax audits
- Partner with the business to manage budgets and spend
- Lead the implementation of our ERP across our four legal entities
- Shape the tools and processes used across the business to set our financial systems up to scale

Our take
Despite the prevalence of mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression, medicine has been relatively slow to respond with new treatment options. Particularly, at-home treatment has been limited to medication, or more recently virtual talk therapy. Flow Neuroscience has developed a wearable tDCS (transcranial Direct Current Stimulation) device for patients to use at home, with a complementary app to help manage the symptoms of major depressive disorder.
Flow’s treatment, the first of its kind approved for home use in Europe, allows users to administer tCDS without a doctor and away from a clinical setting. The company has been committed to following the rigorous medical research and testing framework, with the device undergoing early trials in the UK and EU, which have so far received positive results from users.
In 2022, Flow Neuroscience collaborated with Curebase to launch a large-scale FDA-approved clinical trial of its product. Off the back of this trial, the company entered the MedTech Innovator support programme in 2023. It will also seek FDA approval for its headset, which if successful will open the door for client reach expansion across the UK, EU, and US.
