- AdTech experience or exposure preferred, such as knowledge of the ORTB programmatic ecosystem and protocols, knowledge of DSP vs. SSP relationships, and the basics of how ads are served
- Experience working with multi TB to PB data sets in cloud databases preferred
What the job involves
- The Research team at HUMAN is dedicated to protecting the internet by disrupting the economics of cybercrime
- Our team builds automated detection techniques that both mitigate against known botnet operations, but also are adaptable enough to find new fraud quickly and effectively across a variety of environments and threat types
- We’re looking for an Analyst to join our team to manage the full-cycle of fraud fighting: from the early stages of exploratory research to the development of statistical detection techniques
- This role is at the intersection of data, technology, and business as we aspire to deeply understand how actors are perpetrating schemes and develop a powerful product to delight our customers
- Lead research initiatives for 1-3 of our largest customer accounts, providing specialized insight reports into threats and data quality
- Identify top customer concerns and common issues to improve our product systematically
- Serve as the representative of the Research/Detection team by presenting analysis during business reviews and other customer calls
- Deliver new customer-facing features through collaboration with Customer Success Engineering teams
- Identify impactful detection leads that increase velocity from time of threat identification to implementation of mitigation in HUMAN products
- Deploy stop-gap defenses for emerging threats through the development of analyses, models, algorithms, and dashboards
- Build complex queries and reports to analyze historical data, including the use of techniques such as: sub-queries, temp tables, complex joins, variables
- Maintain product excellence and efficiency through improvements to existing techniques and tooling that reduce the time to understand a new detection lead and process it
- Build detailed documentation of models, algorithms, and analyzes to build visibility and auditability of work
Our take
HUMAN develops threat intelligence software to detect and nullify online bots imitating humans. The company has been in operation since 2011, but was originally known as White Ops until Goldman Sachs acquired it in 2020.
It’s estimated that enterprises lose around 5% of their annual online revenue because of bot fraud, which makes up a vast majority of all internet attacks. Skyrocketing bot traffic online since 2020 has led to a massive uptick in demand for services like HUMAN's, and the company now counts the likes of Adobe and Yahoo as customers.
HUMAN has established itself as a leader in its market, operating on five continents. With the Goldman Sachs acquisition and strong funding at its back, the company is showing no signs of slowing down. It has continued to bolster its position by merging with web app safeguarding business PerimeterX, as well as acquiring anti-malvertising leader clean.io. In 2024 it announced a string of new leadership hires amidst accelerated investment in the public sector.
