Company mission

To help tackle the UK's carbon footprint in battery recycling.

Company mission

To help tackle the UK's carbon footprint in battery recycling.

Our take

The process of battery recycling is energy-intensive, materially wasteful and only recovers a fraction of the energy of the original battery source. Infiniti Recycling has set out to change that with its direct recycling methods.

Infiniti takes the end-of-life waste of EV batteries and factory scrap and preserves the active energy materials that are traditionally replaced, recycling them to make battery cells. This means its recycled batteries have lower energy consumption and require less transport. It’s a closed-loop solution that cuts out several steps in the dominant pyrometallurgy battery recycling process, saving money and energy for both ends of the pipeline.

Infiniti isn’t short of international competitors, but its London-based HQ means it has a strong foothold in the UK manufacturing industry. The company has also won several rounds of funding as it expands and fine-tunes its processes. Ultimately, it’s in good standing to expand its market reach and contribute to decarbonising the energy industry.
