Role
Who you are
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing highly available, scalable, and high-performance backend systems
- 8+ years managing AWS infrastructure with deep technical expertise
- 6+ years of hands-on experience operating Kubernetes in production environments
- Proven success in designing and operating cloud-native networking solutions, including managing service meshes like Istio
- Experience managing both SQL and NoSQL databases, such as MySQL Aurora, Redis, and DynamoDB
- Proficient in Terraform and/or other Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools, including writing and maintaining reusable modules, implementing best practices for code organization and versioning, and automating the provisioning and management of scalable infrastructure
- Familiar with chaos engineering principles and experienced in implementing robust disaster recovery strategies
- Proficient in creating declarative, self-service infrastructure platforms that enable engineers to seamlessly provision, scale, and monitor resources
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex infrastructure challenges
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
- Relevant certifications such as CKA, AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional)
- Track record of managing mission-critical, 24x7 production software systems
What the job involves
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of infrastructure solutions that ensure scalability, reliability, and efficiency to support our growing customer base
- Define architectural standards and best practices for critical infrastructure components, ensuring high engineering standards across the organization
- Continuously monitor and enhance existing infrastructure to improve performance, scalability, and reliability
- Implement and advocate for best practices in system design, performance optimization, testing, and security measures to protect organizational data and systems
- Provide guidance and mentorship to engineering team members, fostering an environment that encourages learning and growth
Our take
These days, all sorts of cards abound, from virtual cards to co-branded credit cards. Imprint aims to stand out in the increasingly crowded space by partnering with businesses to provide branded rewards cards for customers.
While there has been an increase in the number of companies offering branded financial products to reduce costs, Imprint sees its card programs as offering a new platform for deepening customer relationships: less of the nastiness of credit and a much greater focus on rewards.
The startup is focusing on refining its embedded finance solution to fulfil its vision of an Apple-pay like experience for merchants and consumers.
Imprint will hope that its lightweight service, fit for smaller customers like hotel chains, will allow it to compete with the major venture-backed players in the space like Cardless, Apto and Alviere. Its $75 million in venture capital raised in 2023 will go some way towards achieving these aims.
