Head of Internal Communications, Cleo AI

• 8–10 years’ experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or related roles
• Proven experience working closely with senior executives and leadership teams
• Experience building or scaling internal comms in high-growth environments (startup/scale-up strongly preferred)
• Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas
• Strong strategic thinking combined with a willingness to be hands-on
• A self-starter mindset — comfortable creating structure where none exists
• High emotional intelligence and strong stakeholder management skills
• Ability to operate with discretion and sound judgment

Desirable

• We’re looking for a Head of Internal Communications to build and lead this function from the ground up. This is a new role at Cleo, and you’ll define how we communicate across the company - ensuring every team and individual understands our strategy, priorities, and culture as we grow
• You’ll partner closely with executives and senior leaders, as well as the People Team, to shape narratives, drive alignment, and bring clarity to complex topics. This role requires a self-starter who is comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on
• Build the function: Establish Cleo’s internal communications strategy, channels, and rhythms from scratch
• Executive partnership: Work closely with the CEO and leadership team to craft messaging, narratives, and company updates
• Drive alignment: Translate business strategy into clear, compelling communications for the entire company
• Partner with People Team: Align on culture, engagement, and employee experience initiatives
• Own key moments: Lead communications for company-wide events (e.g. all-hands, product launches, org changes, funding milestones)
• Channel strategy: Define and optimise how we communicate (Slack, email, all-hands, intranet, etc.)
• Culture & engagement: Reinforce Cleo’s culture and values through thoughtful, consistent storytelling
• Change communications: Support teams through periods of growth, change, and transformation
• Measure impact: Track engagement and continuously improve how we communicate internally
