Role
Who you are
- At least 5 years of experience in selling software solutions for Enterprise customers in a pre-sales technical role
- Demonstrated strong written, oral and presentation skills with the ability to discuss highly technical concepts to all audiences
- Strong prospecting, qualifying, and negotiating skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment
- Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- High-energy levels paired with curiosity, an agile mindset, and a strong desire to learn business in a dynamic company
Desirable
- Experience selling an API product, or recommending how an API integrates with a product and other systems
- Technical writing experience
- Familiarity with our stack: Windows 2016 Server+, IIS, Elasticsearch, Redis
What the job involves
- Stack Overflow is seeking an experienced Senior Sales/Solution Engineer to support our Enterprise book of business for our product, Stack Overflow for Teams. You’ll serve as a subject matter expert and work directly with prospects/customers to present product capabilities, benefits, and value
- Serve as an expert on our product for both external and internal sales questions
- Support Account Executives by taking a consultative role in sales presentations, including addressing all technical questions and development/configuration issues
- Collaborate on and present product demonstrations to support the sales cycle, including helping customers see us as a differentiated company in the market
- Research and understand our capabilities to provide support at key moments in deal cycles
- Train members of the sales team on the technical nuances of our approach—and how to demonstrate our product differentiators

Stack Overflow is one of the 50 most popular websites worldwide: a Q&A style forum for developers, gamified with upvotes, downvotes, and badges, with over 14 million registered users and upwards of 21 million questions. It's grown to become a go-to resource in the community.
The site has proven a good springboard into providing other knowledge sharing services too - most notable among which is the company’s teams platform. This, along with advertising and jobs listings make for a strong revenue model that saw the company valued at well over $1B when it was acquired back in 2021.
This pricey acquisition means Stack Overflow has a secure buffer it can use to expand. This is taking the form of partnerships with Google Cloud to boost GenAI capabilities, growing its global product audience so it can boost revenue - as things stand, its team's platform is used mainly in the US. If Stack Overflow can get a foothold in developing countries like India and Brazil, it could continue its strong history of impressive growth.
