What the job involves
- Pennylane is a product-led company that prioritizes the development of our platform to drive growth and market share.
- As we expand our SME track, ensuring client satisfaction through effective communication of product updates is crucial. This role offers a strategic opportunity to enhance user engagement and maintain strong relationships with our clients
- As a Product Marketing Manager focused on User Satisfaction, you will be part of a dynamic team within our 40+ people Product organization, supported by over 110 engineers. Your role will be pivotal in:
- Providing clear visibility over product releases, focusing on communication to our users, and maintaining an up-to-date internal roadmap
- Ensuring seamless information flow regarding updates and potential friction points with Sales and Customers
- Closing the feedback loop by informing clients and internal users about implemented suggestions through automated messages, emails, and AI tools
- Maintaining robust relationships with users across web and mobile interfaces
- Within one month
- You’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of our company, teams, and vision during the onboarding week
- You’ll become familiar with our product and the accounting industry through extensive documentation and peer-led training sessions
- You’ll acquire in-depth knowledge of our Product organization, methods, and culture
- Within 3 months
- You’ll have developed and implemented your first communication strategies, working closely with Product Manager and Business teams
- You’ll have positively impacted at least one OKR through your efforts
- You will have established your routine for continuous discovery and updates to our clients and be ready to build your roadmap
- Within 6 months
- You’ll be autonomous in defining your objectives and roadmap
- You’ll continue to have a strong impact through iterations on the solutions you've implemented
- You’ll share your learnings and best practices within the team

- As the product team doubles in size over the next two years, you will have:
- Opportunities to recruit and contribute to the growth of our PMM team (6 and growing !)
- Increased responsibilities in project leadership
- Opportunities to implement new processes, tools, and best practices to enhance team efficiency
- Develop a comprehensive strategy for communicating product updates and managing releases
- Create a changelog system to track and communicate small, frequent changes
- Craft messaging for various audiences, including internal teams and existing clients
- Coordinate with other PMMs and teams to ensure aligned communication efforts
- Collaborate with Technical Support to manage incident communication and ensure timely, clear updates
- Develop strategies to increase user adoption of new features and updates
- Create and implement A/B tests to evaluate communication effectiveness
- Monitor and analyze user engagement with product updates and communications
- Implement tools for tracking and communicating product changes
- Develop processes for efficient and effective communication across all channels
- Highlight Pennylane's responsiveness and continuous improvement as a competitive advantage

Our take
In multiple mature markets, companies have been using QuickBooks, Xero and other SaaS solutions for accounting, but it is a fragmented industry with each country using its own software solution. In France, there is no definitive SaaS solution for accounting.
Pennylane wants to overhaul current tools and modernise the tech stack of accounting firms, by connecting directly with third-party services that hold valuable information. Accounting firms can use Pennylane collaboratively by accessing the platform to centralise receipts, create invoices and automate tasks. Instead of sending information back and forth with spreadsheets and photo attachments, both clients and accounting firms can interact directly on the platform.
Pennylane has a significant market opportunity ahead, with an ambitious goal to become the preferred management platform for European companies. The company already claims an impressive number of customers and strong backing which will allow it to further develop its platform and expand to other markets in Europe.
