Role
Who you are
- 7-10 years of progressive experience in strategy, business development, or partnerships within healthcare, and preferably in the value-based care space
- Proven track record of closing deals and/or managing partnerships at an enterprise level
- Demonstrated success closing technology, SaaS, or AI-powered solution sales to complex enterprise customers
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to C-level executives, clinicians, and operational stakeholders
- Strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution—comfortable operating in a growth-stage environment with limited resources
- High degree of resilience and grit—this role involves pushing into new markets, facing potential rejection, and iterating quickly
What the job involves
- Covera Health is seeking a Director of Business Development to drive strategic growth and partnership expansion
- This individual will be responsible for the entire business development lifecycle - from identifying and sourcing new hospital and health system partners to negotiating contracts and closing deals
- This role is critical to our expansion and will require close collaboration with product, marketing, clinical, and operational teams
- Lead the full lifecycle of business development, from sourcing leads to closing complex enterprise-level deals
- Identify and engage new hospital and health system partners, particularly radiology departments and independent radiology practices
- Cultivate trusted relationships with C-level executives, clinical leaders, and operational stakeholders
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to shape go-to-market strategy, refine product-market fit, and ensure partner success
- Translate market insights and partner feedback into actionable strategies and product recommendations
- Serve as a trusted advisor on Covera’s technology offerings, including our AI-enabled clinical intelligence platform
- Negotiate business and legal terms with prospective partners, in coordination with legal and executive leadership
Our take
Covera Health's study of advanced imaging technology found complex diagnoses to have error rates of 30% or more. Their answer has been to develop powerful AI-powered analytics tools to assist radiology providers in improving diagnostic accuracy, thereby reducing patient harm and healthcare expense.
It is a promising area in which to develop and deploy AI tools. Covera benefits from cloud-based access to medical records stretching back over a decade, and millions of associated data points, to refine and train their error recognition software.
Moreover, Covera is tapping into an expanding market. Not only do they serve providers in all 50 US states, they’re specializing in a niche area of a market that is expected to reach just over $80 billion by the end of 2026. Healthcare analytics is expected to revolutionize the field over the next few years, and Covera is positioning itself as a strategically specialized player.
