Who you are
- The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys thinking cross-functionally, is savvy with reporting technologies, and is both creative and analytical

- Strong storytelling, writing , and research skills
- Bachelors in Business Administration; MBA preferred
- Experience at a start-up, venture capital firm, or investment group
- Proficiency in understanding market research and finding data points to support arguments
- Proficiency in PowerPoint with strong slide preparation experience
- Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation)
- Strong editing, proofreading, and project management skills with attention to detail
- Have a laptop
- Have internet access at home (this job is remote)

What the job involves
- Wander is a growing fast-paced startup, hiring a full-time Business Operations Analyst
- You will work remotely as a member of the Finance Team to support both internal and external reporting
- You will report directly to the VP of Finance
- Evaluate, improve, and create all reporting materials, such as board and investor decks
- Create a strong and meaningful storyline about our business using relevant research and data
- Perform market, competition, and market portfolio research
- Interface cross-functionally to properly understand and report on all business areas
- Reading, analyzing, and assessing market and industry data, reports, graphs, charts, and other findings
- Support investor relations and fundraising efforts
- Build strong working relationships with internal team
- Monitor and ensure accuracy of supporting databases
Our take
While AirBnB disrupted the hotel and hospitality industries, the novelty has worn off. Surprise fees, sub-par cleaning, uncomfortable beds and unreliable photos are just some of the factors which have taken the shine off the sharing economy model. Built as a response to these issues, Wander aims to return the luxury to the vacation and short stay sector.
Wander provides a tech-first approach to letting short stays that might be familiar to anyone using AirBnB or another competitor, but the comparisons stop there. Wander directly owns and controls the properties on its portfolio, allowing it to ensure a high standard of quality and excellent customer service for its guests.
After raising an impressive amount of capital, Wander has secured a significant credit facility from Credit Suisse. It will use this to increase its property portfolio across the United States with an aim to put a property within 3 hours drive of 80% of the population. It is also rolling out a facility to allow guests to purchase part ownership of the homes they stay in, allowing them to diversify their own financial portfolios. With this approach, Wander is in a strong position to capture a large segment of the luxury market.
