Senior Backend Engineer, Heartbeat Health

• 5+ years of experience building backend services and APIs
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern, statically typed language like Rust, Go, or Kotlin (we’re a Rust shop)
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs, including defining and maintaining documentation with OpenAPI specifications
• Solid understanding and experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL), distributed systems, and AWS cloud environments
• Familiarity with service-oriented architectures and best practices for designing modular services
• Comfort with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and monitoring/observability tools
• Solid communication and collaboration skills; ability to work cross-functionally and independently
• A bias toward pragmatism, simplicity, and execution
