- Current 2L or 3L at an accredited U.S. law school for the 2025/2026 academic year
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Comfortable working independently, while managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-moving environment
- A proactive and curious mindset - you’re not afraid to ask questions and take initiative
- Familiarity with basic legal terminology and document types
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and comfort learning new tools (e.g., CLM software, DocuSign)
- A team player who’s excited to grow with a mission-driven company
Desirable
- Experience in a startup or in-house legal department
- Familiarity with contract review or contract management systems
- Exposure to fintech, SaaS, or employment/benefits law
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a detail-oriented, highly organized Legal Intern to join our team for the 2025 fall semester
- You’ll support our VP of Legal and Head of Compliance across a range of legal and compliance functions, everything from contract management to compliance research
- Review and organize contracts and other legal documents
- Help manage and maintain our contract lifecycle management (CLM) system
- Assist with preparation and review of NDAs, vendor agreements, and other templates
- Conduct basic legal and regulatory research (e.g., privacy, employment, fintech regulations)
- Support internal compliance processes (e.g., document retention, licensing, insurance renewals)
- Draft summaries and internal memos related to legal documents or regulatory updates
- Coordinate signature processes and manage document execution workflows
- Gain practical in-house experience supporting internal clients across the legal & compliance functions
- Provide general and administrative support for legal & compliance department projects and technology implementations
- Help with cross-functional projects and special initiatives as needed

Today, over 48M Americans struggle with over $1.75M of student debt. Candidly, rebranded from FutureFuel.io, offers payment management services for student loans in the form of employee benefits.
The company collaborates with employers to make loan repayment processes easier. Candidly claims that these services help students save between $15,000 to $40,000 and reduce loan repayment time by up to 5 years. Other companies such as Tuition.io also provide employer-paid student benefits to help contribute to debt repayments. However, Candidly's unique set of digital money saving tools provide an edge over competitors by helping students make small savings that can accumulate to big debt payments.
With increasing nationwide interest in reducing student debt, the company experienced 10x revenue growth and a 3,600% increase in payments flowing through its platform through 2022. With a fresh injection of funding in March 2023, Candidly is well-positioned to shake up this field and it will be exciting to see what it does next.
