Who you are
- The ideal candidate has a proven track record in crafting and managing products that fuel audience expansion, boost engagement, and drive monetization for digital publishers
- This individual should have experience navigating complex technical challenges, particularly in client-side intensive areas such as video playback, advertising, and data collection within the digital publishing domain
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in product management, serving as a titled Product Manager responsible for overseeing and enhancing products within the digital publishing and/or advertising sector
- Proficiency in Enterprise/B2B environments, successfully delivering scalable products through collaboration with customers to address their specific requirements and drive SAAS revenue growth
- An effective and articulate communicator, proficient in both written and verbal communication, with the ability to engage seamlessly with engineering teams and business stakeholders
- Proficiency in the process of instrumenting, measuring, and analyzing product data at scale, enabling the extraction of valuable insights that complement anecdotal feedback
- Exceptional skills in defining acceptance criteria and efficiently prioritizing backlogs, coupled with prior experience in leading engineering teams that practice Scrum and maintain a well-defined release cadence
- A proactive and self-driven individual, continuously seeking new challenges, capable of autonomously leading product development efforts with minimal supervision
What the job involves
- We are looking for a Product Manager to join our Publisher solutions team
- This pivotal role will directly report to the Vice President of Publisher Products
- Foster a culture of innovation by inspiring and collaborating closely with engineers in the realm of video playback, audience engagement, video analytics, data, and web-based advertising
- Take full ownership of the product development lifecycle, from initial discovery to roadmap planning, requirement documentation, go-to-market strategies, and ongoing customer support
- Engage directly with clients and internal stakeholders to shape and prioritize release requirements that directly contribute to business success
- Facilitate planning meetings, assist technical services teams, coordinate various aspects of the project, and co-author user-friendly documentation
- Champion the product through effective promotion of new features to clients, define success metrics, and accelerate adoption by empowering sales and service teams
- Serve as a role model for our core values and act as a leader, playing a pivotal role in shaping our company culture and advancing our product development practices

Online video is an integral part of almost every business' website, from advertisement publishing and sports to eLearning and podcasting. However, whilst video can be hosted through traditional video players that can be embedded on webpages, this technology is not optimized for omnichannel viewing, lacks a viewer analytic structure, and above all, cannot engage audiences on the same level as video platform giants.
JW Player provides a video streaming platform designed to be optimized for omnichannel viewing for any business using video to engage their audience. In addition to providing a high-quality and consistent video player, the company also provides innovative video player bidding technology, ad revenue optimization tools, and real-time viewer engagement analytics.
Whilst the company certainly faces competition from other video engagement platforms, the merger of JW Player and Connatix positions JW Player as a leader in video streaming and monetization.
