What the job involves
- Dioxycle is seeking a dedicated, hands-on and detail-oriented IT Manager who, in collaboration with our Systems team, will be in charge of the development of our IT and (cyber)security systems
- Under the supervision of Dioxycle's Director of Engineering, you will be in charge of the health and continued improvement of all our IT, cybersecurity and security systems
- We are seeking a technically adept individual who is enthusiastic about applying their engineering expertise to write reliable embedded software and help us develop new equipments
- Maintain and continuously improve the company’s IT environment, including the fleet of laptops, mobile devices, operating systems, SaaS tools, networks, and user accounts, ensuring reliability and scalability as the company grows
- Design, implement, and operate cybersecurity controls across endpoints, identity, cloud infrastructure, and internal systems, including access management, patching, monitoring, and incident response
- Ensure security and IT readiness for customers, partners, and investors, including responding to security questionnaires, preparing audits or certifications (e.g., SOC 2 / ISO 27001), and documenting policies, procedures, and risk decisions
- Establish and promote practical security and IT practices across the company, through clear policies, onboarding, training, and day-to-day guidance that balances security, usability, and engineering velocity

Our take
Ethylene is an important product used in many manufacturing processes, from PVC pipes to clothing to cars. As the world's most highly produced organic compound, it contributes significantly to carbon emissions. Dioxcycle aims to address this problem with a catalytic process that converts carbon trapped during manufacturing into ethylene using water and electricity. Producers that use ethylene in their manufacturing process can use their own carbon emissions as a supply of the chemical, reducing both their carbon emissions and the emissions involved in producing ethylene through traditional methods.
While there is a bright future in technologies that allow manufacturers to produce materials from their carbon emissions, cost is likely to prove a major challenge for Dioxycle. Regardless of green credentials, producers will be looking for value for money in sourcing materials, and high energy costs are a major expense in Dioxycle's process. However, the company has produced several proofs of concept since the company's founding, each more efficient than the last, and funding will be used in the construction of an industrial prototype showcasing the company’s efficiency.
Going forward, the company hopes to be able to take advantage of environmental tax credits for sustainable technology, providing a green credit to companies using its processes that offset the increased energy use. As climate change approaches a tipping point, Dioxycle is likely to play an important role in reducing industrial emissions in the manufacturing process, as well as providing a major source of a widely used manufacturing material.
